Would you rather have been out now that you've gone through it? I haven't gotten mine out yet, but they might have to knock me out because mine haven't "erupted" and won't all the way b/c I have crowding. So... They probably have to cut up my gums. Are you taking time off from work?
I'm sorry youre feeling bad...

oh honey I am so sorry! Just relax and lay down and watch tv. I had mine taken out a few months ago and I had to be put under. Mine were super impacted and my surgeon actually had to cut them out of my jaw. It was horribul, but I got threw it and thanks to my fiancee I was back in the land of the living within a few weeks. I will be thinking about you and sending positive vibes your way!

My wisdom teeth were not yet poking through when I had them removed. I opted to be put under general anesthetic because frankly I'm a very nervous patient and I knew that the idea of being awake for it would cause a lot of anxiety for me. I'm really glad I chose that option and if you're nervous about getting yours done, I would say to go ahead and be put to sleep. Wisdom teeth extractions are no fun, why make it worse for yourself?

To the OP, just take it easy, eat soft foods, ice the area if you feel sore. It will be unpleasant for a couple days but it will pass. Feel better soon!

thanks for the good vibes! i must be getting them because i'm happy to report that i've been eating a bit of yogurt (took me three hours to get one little cup down), and i've been icing my cheeks. i took half a vicodin (i'm pretty small and didnt want to have any side effects like throwing up- that'd be terrible), and i don't feel loopy or anything at all. i just feel a dull pain in my mouth, and i'm SO hungry. my bf just went to get me some soy ice cream (regular makes me stomach hurt), yummmm. i would not have wanted to be put out in retrospect....i've never been under general anesthesia before, and i've heard horror stories about waking up an feeling so terrible. don't get me wrong, i feel pretty terrible in general, but i was happy to be awake for the procedure. if they numb you well, you wont feel a thing, its just the awful taste of blood and the grinding sound of the teeth coming out that is the worst part.

Feel your pain!!!I had two taken out 3 months ago. I think the 4 numbing shots into my gums was the worst part. Hang in there...keep taking those vicodins! They saved me from banging my head into the wall many times.

Same with mine...

I got put to sleep. One second I was talking about shoes and the next I was lying on a bed, drooling, after the procedure. My mother tells me I was singing... I'm really glad there is no video evidence of that day.

Ooo- try jello- I loved jello when I got mine out. I opted to get knocked out the 2nd time when I had it done with the states and woke up perfectly happy.

The first try, was horrific . . . let's just say never get wisdom teeth out in China- it's not customary to extract wisdom teeth there and it involved a chisel, hammer, tears and 3 weeks of my jaw swollen shut from the trauma. I was supposed to get 2 to all 4 out that day, but after the first one, my mom refused to let them do anymore. Turns out I was the Dr's 2nd try ever in extracting these . . .

Oh my...I hope you can eat more food soon. My dentist keeps hinting at getting mine taken out...I'm terrified. I don't want to go under because I'm afraid of not waking up, and I don't want to be awake, because I don'w want to see them do it.

My top wisdoms were taken out without me being under. The bottoms have not fully erupted and I will need to be put out. Looking forward to it. Never been loopie before. I had 3 root canals and enjoyed them.

::Good Vibes::

I had all four of mine taken out at once, but I was put asleep during the procedure. I was absolutely TERRIFIED but (luckily) had a good recovery and I was eating McDonald's french fries and chicken nuggets (that's the first thing I wanted!!) about 5 days after the surgery. After nearly a week of eating mashed bananas, soup, apple sauce, yoghurt, etc - I was ready for something fattening and salty

Took me about 45 mins to eat the fries and nuggets but boy were they worth it.

I didn't take the Vicodin that I got, I just took Motrin 800s and iced the heck out of my face. I had this band that wrapped around my head where I could stick icepacks in. I looked like I just came from Extreme Makeover, LOL! Luckily no bruising, no dry sockets, nothing
