hi ladies!! how is everyone doing??

i worked out 5 days out of the week last week. i was going for 6 but didn't quite make it. as far as my work out, i use the elliptical machine for 30 minutes and then do some lunges/squats and then i lift weights for another 15 mins or so. last night i got my exercise ball out and was doing some crunches and twists [trying to tame the muffin top :)]. i think im going to switch it up tonight and do some intervals on the treadmill.

i can really tell in my hands and wrists and face that i have lost weight. i have family telling me that they see it too...makes me and it feels so good to be able to get into some clothes that weren't fitting just a few weeks ago.

keep up the good work ladies...we can kiss our extra lbs good bye!!

I wish things were going good here too but they're not. I'm really ill and on antibiotics. The only thing I can do is lay on bed all day, it really sucks I've still lost 6.61 lbs, so nothing went down or up.

well you are sick, so you have an excuse i hope you are feeling better soon! as soon as you are feeling back to your self then you can refocus on the diet and stuff, right now you just need to focus on getting better!

I walked a couple miles around a pond last night, wanted to get a 3rd mile in but my legs started to go to jello and my vision started to get really goofy.

trying to figure out if i'm going to out tonight... and i really should.... but i kinda have a headache....ugh..... why is working out so hard!?!!
i think after reading this i will definitely go out tonight as long as my headache doesn't get worse. my friend i was going with has become flaking and bailed on me last night so now i must learn to go by myself and get into the habit of it.

this weekend i weighed myself and i was about 174. i haven't weighed myself for awhile so i have no idea if the walking last week did anything at all

yay!! good for you i hope you went again tonight.
i wanted to flake out last night and tonight...then i told my self that i wasn't going to quit. and i went i feel so good now. so i just have to keep reaffirming why i need to go and how great i feel afterward.

i can see more muscle definition in my arms and my calves...woo-hoo!!

on my way home i told myself i wasn't going to go... then i got home and just decided to make myself do it! another couple of miles, so about 40 minutes of walking.

decided to jump on the scale this morning and i'm about a pound more than i was when i weighed myself :(

i knwo taking pills and stuff isn't good (and i can't take pills anyways) but has anyone tried the appetite suppresents? if that's the right word... i am always just so freaking hungry! after walking i went home and made dinner and probably ate about twice as much as i should have.

some company makes the powdered stuff you put into water... i just need something that keeps me from being so hungry all the time.

you need to be sure you are taking in enough protein. plus when you feel really hungry drink a glass of ice water it helps to suppress the hungry feeling. if you are really really hungry, then have a healthy snack. handful of cashews, a banana and peanut butter.

and i have tried some diet pills but i wasn't exercising and i hadn't made the decision to really lose the weight so they did no good.

** and also, your weight can fluctuate up to 10lbs in a day...water retention makes up most if not all of it. so watch the salt intake and be drinking lots of water to help with an retention :)

Ilovepinkhearts, I'm feeling a bit better but not back to my old self Have been cycling yesterday for 40 minutes and did some walking for 20 minutes so I'm good I think! Yay for going btw, I'm proud of you

ILuvShopping I would try not to take any pills, I think the only thing that really helps is eating healthy and excersising a lot.

i think my new diet plans need to be eating my meals with someone. when i eat by myself (which is often because i live by myself) all i do is eat and eat... when i'm with someone... i usually can only eat half of my meal because i'm talking a lot and i can actually allow myself to get full before my food is gone. lol

this morning i weighed myself and i was down to 172, perhaps my clothes weighed more yesterday morning lol.

I was only able to get one lap in last night, which is 1.2 miles. had plans to go out tonight but suppose to be raining all day so we'll see what happens.
I drink water all day long at work and with my meals because i'm really picky about juice and dont' like flavored water or tea and i'm trying to stay away from pop! although i haven't kicked it out completely.

ilovepinkhearts - sounds like you're doing great in such a short amount of time!!

good job^^ and yeah i limited myself to one soda a day. and i would only drink half the serving at a time, so i technically got to drink it twice a day and i drink out of a small glass. but we are all out now and we haven't bought any more. so i have been drinking water and tea [slightly sweet]. and what i try to do when it comes to eating so that i don't over eat is that i chew slowly and really taste the food and once i sigh i quit eating. plus another tip i read was to use more spice and flavor in your food that way you still have the taste in your mouth and you aren't supposed to feel as hungry after eating.

im glad you are feeling better neiners!! being sick and trying to diet/work out, or anything for that matter, sucks. my baby girl and 4 yr old son have strep, and she sneezed right in my face earlier...so im pretty sure i will be coming down with the funk once again *sigh*

i still have to go and work out tonight, though i feel exhausted after taking care of 2 fussy babies all day, but i know i will feel guilty if i don't go.

Hi All,

I know I am late but can I join in? I have at least 50 pounds to lose and have just started doing the Dr Joshi detox to start me off. Hubby and I have been travelling for the past two months and did wayyyy too much overindulging, and I am so over being the fattest woman in the room, and being asked how far along I am when I am not pregnant, and can't fall pregnant either.

So for me the detox is basically:
- no alcohol
-no soda drinks
- nothing from the nightshade family eg potato, courgettes, cucumber, tomato, peppers, mushrooms
- only fish and white meat, no red meat, no shellfish
- no dairy but instead allowed goats cheese/milk, soy/rice milk
-eggs 3-4 a week
- no refined carbohydrates
-no yeast, wheat, gluten
- no sugar
-no fruit except for bananas and berries

I think that's about it, am still familiarising myslf with it. So can I join in please? I could really use some support, all my friends are super skinny and glamorous who can eat and drink as they please.

sure buddy, the more the merrier!! and that diet sounds really restrictive...i can't do that..lol i don't have enough will power. im just eating less and counting my calories. staying away from fast foods and sweets and soda. good luck and keep us posted!!

YAY nieners!! WAY TO GO!! keep up the good work!

i was bad last night, i didn't go work out :( but i will just work out the rest of the week and over the weekend. so yesterday was my "cheat day". we even ordered pizza, but i only had 2.5 small pieces, so i can't be too upset at myself. i used to eat like half a pizza...hehehe.

and my scale says i have lost another 3-4 lbs...i hope it's true!! im stoked

you all are doing so good! :) we've had really crappy weather here... rained the last two days... cold...icky... so no walking for me... this is what i want a treadmill for! hopefully getting one in november. My mom said i have to prove to her that i will use it (since i dont' use my ellipitical they bought me for xmas a few years ago... i HATE it - thought i would love it) - so hopefully me getting out to walk at least 3 times a week will prove that i will use it.

i'm going to hu hot tonight.. which probably isn't the best diet plan.. but i'm going with my cousin and her family so then at least i can use my "talking while eating" diet technique lol

why don't you like the elliptical? i love it!! my knees and shins kill when i use the treadmill.

i need my butt kicked into gear!! i don't want to work out tonight...but i need to. someone needs to kick my butt up off the couch and kick me out the door
