i think i need to frequent this forum more.... you guys seem to be on the same bandwagon as me. i'm currently 175-180 and i would really love to get down to 130ish

i wouldn't say that my eatting habits are terrible... i really don't snack that much. but i eat large meals because by then i'm STARVING! i've tried the snack thing throughout the day at work but I either run out of healthy snack foods, or i just forget.

I have an eliptical at home but i HATE it and plan on getting a treadmill soon. my mom said she would take my eliptical and then they would buy me a treadmill. the only problem.. i'm in iowa and my parents are in PA. and i need to get rid of the elliptical before the treadmill because i don't have enough room.

I would love to start going on walks...but i hate my neighborhood and dont' feel comfortable walking alone, and i have no friends that are willing.

i don't feel comfortable in ANY of my clothes unless it's a hoodie (thank god for fall starting SOON!) and all around i just feel horrible about myself :(

sorry i kind of rambled and hijacked this thread but i just need some motivation! and nothing seems to be working.

I have to loose 50 lbs also, I've already lost 25. I've been suffering w/sinus infections and bronchittis since the middle of Aug, so I haven't been to the gym since then, but I'm starting to feel back to normal and I think I'll be ready to start working out again on Monday.

I say all of us who want to get healthier make it a competition and lets see who can loose the most by Jan 1st.

That's a good idea!

I've been doing really well until these last couple days. Some friends from out of town came to visit so haven't had time to work out and have been eating out a bit too much. After the weekend ends, going to cut back a lot more and get ready for Halloween outfits!!!

tomorrow it starts for me! I have a friend that runs every night so i asked if i could tag along and walk while she runs. she just runs around a pond at the local community college so she won't leave me in the dust or anything and the length around the pond is a little over the mile. so we're starting that tomorrow night. i'm excited!

yay!! more people!!

i did pretty bad this weekend too...im getting back in gear today though. sticking to my diet and i did yogalates this morning and i plan on going to the gym tonight as well.

i think my scale is fubar'ed. im upset about that too. i weighed myself on a different scale and it said i weighed A LOT more than mine does. i know i have lost weight, i can see and feel it and plus im wearing clothes that i couldn't just weeks ago. so that made me bummed, i don't know what scale is right, or if what is right is somewhere in the middle. :(

oh well i will just keep on doing what i am doing and i know i will lose more weight!

i think as long as you keep feeling great it doesn't matter what the scale says :)

i suck at dieting.... i don't snack during the day (or hardly at all) and i have this HUGE jug of water that i drink all day/every day. so i think at first i'll just try to get a workout/walking routine in motion and then work on the food... but i love food... :(

i did my first night of walking last night and it felt GREAT! I walked 1.2 miles. not sure how good that is but my legs sure did feel like jello afterwards. I sort of wanted to do another lap around the pond but my friend was running and she was already halfway finished with her second lap by the time i finished and i didn't want to make her wait for me.

Hi, I hope I could help some, I lost 40lbs 6 months after I had my babies, it finally get's to you when you see yourself in the mirror! ok, mindset in action and a Priority to get healthy inside and out.
How I did it and may help you as well. Eat small healthy snacks throughout the day inbetween your meals, eggs, lowfat cottage cheese, string cheese, no starchy foods at all for the first two weeks, lots of protein, chicken, fish, tuna, meats, drink lots of water throughout the day for flushing out, exercise 30 min. a day like aerobics, dance at home to some jamming music to keep you going, last meal no later than 6:00pm, exrecise helps burn off fat faster and helps reduce stress, keep the routine up, you will lose at least 3-5lbs a week.

Good luck

Okay, so I started today
I'm building up with eating 3 times a day, I used to snack a lot or eat @ the most crazy times (2am in the morning etc).

My list so far:

Breakfast:

0% fat yoghurt drink,
1 sandwich with chicken filet,

1 glass of water.

Lunch:

1 scrambled egg with a slice of cheese,1 slice of bread,

1 apple
1 lt water

Dinner:

1 meat substitute
2 ladles of red beets
1 ladle olive-oil baked potatoes

1 lt water

Exercise:
30 minutes cycling
30 minutes running

It looks like I ate a lot to me, but it feels good.

I walked for 40 minutes last night, about 2.5 miles. my shins are KILLING me!! and i feel like i sprained my big toe... and i don't know if that's even possible...lol but it hurts. but i will push on tonight! i just might be a little bit slower. lol

the no eating past 6:00 seems almost impossible... at least for my schedule. i don't get home from work till 5, by the time i change and get settled and start to make dinner, i'm looking at 6:30 at the earliest... and now with me HOPEFULLY walking most nights, we go between 6 and 7 so i have to eat when i get home

good job ladies!!

im trying to stick to the diet, im pretty much eating the same stuff just less of it [we eat pretty healthy as is] and i am drinking more water. i have worked out everyday this week so far, i will go again tonight after dinner. it's a nice way to end the night...a good sweat and a great feeling. i think i have lost more weight, but my frickin messed up scale doesn't show it. i really need to buy a new one, but i don't want to know what i 'really' weigh...lol

Yay I lost 6.61 lbs so far!

Ilovepinkhearts, I love the way you trying to lose the weight. It's so much healthier than just dieting for a while and then going back to ''normal'', KWIM? How are you working out? I am thinking of signing up for aqua spinning and zumba and normal swimming... I love being in water! Hopefully the scale will work with you the next time.

Okay...I've been slacking off. On Thursday I ran 3.5 miles but that was it for last week. Hopefully this week is better, so far ate pretty healthy but didn't work out because I am feeling sick. I really need to stop making excuses though, ahhhh!!! Must get in a run for sure tomorrow!!!
