i'm joining ya ~ ! i recently joined the fitness club and wanted to loose more than 5lbs for summer! but i don't know if it's because of working out, i actually GAINED 2 lbs instead of loosing ..... XD

Don't worry, I think we all get ourselves into this same boat after winter. Unless you have amazing metabolism or are a health freak, we all gain a few lbs in the winter...but you're right, time to get healthy!!! Not just for bathing suits, though. I would love to lead a healthier lifestyle...I guess I just dunno how...

Have your trainer or someone that works at the health center check the % of fat in your body...most likely, you have lost fat and gained muscle. Muscle weighs more that fat.

Count me in! DH and I just started nutrisystems yesterday and I picked up a gym membership with my hubby. I have equipment at home too but figured getting out of the house is good. Goal for end of June is 10 to 15 lbs.

I'm in!! How have i missed this thread!!

I would like to lose about 10lb's that i put on over the winter, I'm no where near large, but i just want to fit into my 'thin' clothes!!

Another inspiration is that i recently bought some white skinny jeans like Victoria Beckham, and I want to look good in them!

hey gals, i need to lose at least 10lbs, ideally 20lbs but HOW am i going to lose all that weight?!?!


i went to the gym yesterday but i'mnot disciplined enough to go everyday. i told myself i need to cut portion size and food intake yesterday after working out. i tried to eat a little less yesterday for dinner. I stayed up late to get something done and then got deperessed reading some old emails and then i finished a whole bag of chips at 3am!!! THERE went my attempt to control my diet and lose all that weight!! ARGHHHHH

Get this... I'm actually excited to go for a run tonight! I've been wanting to lose weight so bad, and now that I have new running shoes and it's nice out and I can actually leave my apartment and my elliptical machine, I'm optimistic about being able to do this! I have a lot of weight I want to lose (probably 50 pounds total), but I know that if I keep my mind on my goals that I can do it.

One things that's helping me is to keep a food/exercise journal. Every time I eat something, I have to write it down (even if it's just a piece of candy or a handful of chips or whatever). It makes you think twice, plus you feel so good when you look back on your day and realize it was healthy. I also write down the exercise I do, and how many ounces of water I drink. I have a little notebook, and use a page for each day.

I did my 3 mile walk this morning. I'm going to do two more this afternoon/early evening! I feel great. I just want to move 6 days a week but if I do at least 5 days and reach my miles goal for the week (at least 20 miles) I'm happy!

I PM'd Megs to see if we can do 3 threads: inspiration, progress and fitness.

I am planning on keeping a list of everyone and doing a MAIN post on MONDAYs with everyone's progress.

If you have not responded with the weekly progress I will put a * in the post and maybe we can all drop a PM or encouragement as needed.

I'll let you all know what I hear from Megs and come up with the list of everyone in the thread so far.

Today is another BRAND NEW DAY. Don't beat yourself up. Have a back-up plan if that happens to you....number one - don't be reading depressing emails at midnight - we need our rest because if we don't get enough every night, it can lead to depression and anxiety believe it or not. Taking care of ourselves means not only physically but emotionally and mentally as well!

I'd like to join too! I've been working out regulary for 6 weeks now, 3x a week for one hour each time. I do a circuit with cardio and weight lifting then do cardio on an elliptical. I've actually gained weight but I know that it's muscle that I'm gaining right now. My ultimate goal is to lose 50 pounds. I think I'd like to set my summer goal for 10 pounds. My fitness goal is to keep up 3x a week and increase my time on the elliptical to 45 minutes each time. So, count me in!!
