I usually weigh myself every Monday morning and then update my ticker. Is it okay if I continue to do this, since I have a pattern established?

You mean the DVD's. Leslie Sansone has a Walk At Home series workout and it's pretty popular. It's a Walk Routine you can do inside but it's really aerobics and walking. It's a great workout! Her routines are equivalent to one taking a 1-5 mile walk. I do her 5 mile workout most days and I never do less than 3 when I do her workouts. I either do one of her workouts or I workout on my treadmill or walk on our neighborhood walk path. I'm pretty fit--walking works for me. I've been doing it for years.

She has a website..... lesliesansone.com if you are interested.

I've lost 10 pounds since January and want to lose 15 more. Sometimes I feel like I am not trying hard enough. I get a lot of exercise, my issue is more with food. Eating the right portions of healthier foods. I realize you don't have to sit around eating bon bons to gain wait, a little here or there really adds up.

I've lost 5 pounds since the beginning of the year. I'd like to lose another 25. I don't really have a set goal of time, but I'd like it to be sooner rather than later. I've joined Weight Watchers, but dropped out just because I really didn't like being so obsessive about points....but have started walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes almost every day. I'd like to get a really good exercise video and I've seen Hip Hop Abs and Turbo Jam on TV....I just don't know if anyone here has tried it. I also bought an Exercise Ball because that looks really cool too. I think this is a good thread for motivation and encouragement if we can all stick to answering each others comments!

Thanks everyone for joining!

Here are my thoughts and maybe you can add a few.

I was going to PM Meg to see if we can have 2 threads for the Summer Weight Loss Club (SWLC)!.

1. Inspiration thread, encourangement, tips, everyday chit/chat to keep us all going.

2. A progress thread where we can log our weight loss by the week. Weigh in at your leisure but I would like to post weekly results by late Monday morning. That should work OK for ArmCandyLuvr who is so brave to weigh herself every Monday AM (talk about weekend motivation!)

I can do a weekly post in the progress thread and keep track of everyone's accomplishments.

If your are NOT doing the weigh-in maybe you could "grade" yourself on an ABCDF scale as to how you did the past week.

Any other suggestions?

^^I think those ideas are great. However, I'd add a fitness thread where can log in their workouts or is there one like this already? I think it's great if people are moving and actually chart. It could be as simple as just stating 'I worked out 5 days this week'???

Also, I'm not going to weight in because I do not need to lose weight. My only goal is to workout at least 5 days per week and also log in at least 20 miles per week/80 miles per month and tone up..so a few inches here and there. So I think the grade system is great. If I eat properly, workout and reach my workout goals for the week then I can give myself a grade....that's motivation for the next week. I like that idea.

How about also putting in what we've done the past week to help us get motivated - or even have a receipe area. Like today I had a fabulous Boca Burger for lunch and it's always helpful to break out of the rut with other people's suggestions, receipes, etc. What do you think?

I love my Coronas. Okay, I'm a beer girl. But seriously, I don't have problems with sweets - my problem is PORTIONS. I can eat more spaghetti than my husband!!! And bread? Forgetaboutit. A whole bagette if I'm hungry!!! NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! So here's the deal - I started my day out with a 3 eggwhite omlette with just a little smidge of cheddar for some flavor and then sliced up a bunch of fresh mushrooms and cooked that up. No snack. Lunch was a Boca Burger on a whole wheat bun with lettuce and tomato. I did have a couple of tortilla strips on the side with salsa, but I needed some crunch. Then for dinner I made a nice homemade Chicken Pot Pie - and all that it was was the Reduced Fat Bisquick, some eggs, Cream of Mushroom Soup, some peas, carrots and cooked cubed chicken. Lots of seasonings though - thyme, pepper and some Chicken Spice. All and all, it wasn't a bad day. I even walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes only to discover that I really need a sports bra. I had to run holding myself!!!!!! But only for like 2 minutes - then I just walked fast!!! So let's do good on this one ladies!!!!!
