Gaining weight while on your period?

I know that when a woman's on her period, she retains water and therefore becomes more bloated and consequently heavier.

I didn't know it would be THIS much heavier though. It seems that over the past few days (I'm on day 3) I have gained 3 pounds.

Is this normal?

I usually start to retain water a few days prior and I will put on a pound or two. When it's all over the extra pound goes away also.

I usually gain anywhere from 3-5 lbs with my period.

Totally normal! I gain 3-4 pounds during pms, and lose it on day 1 or 2 of Auntie Flo.

Yes, 3 lbs or so is pretty normal and it goes away when Aunt Flo is gone.

I can gain 5 pounds from my period, and I'm only 5'0" tall. Also, if I don't take my meds I'll retain about 5 pounds of fluid too.

This is DEFINITELY water retention...usually I wake up and I'm a pound or so lighter after all the food has settled...but today I GAINED a pound! I didn't even eat or drink anything since the last time I weighed myself last night!

Ughhh I hope I drop it ALL after Aunt Flo is gone...or else I'm just not eating right.

ugh im like mary j blige..i cant believe im not the only one who goes thru this...she said that in a month..she only has a week where she is slim...except that i bloat up for 2 weeks pre period ughhhhh

Totaly normal! I gain anywhere from 3 up to 6 lbs!

I can tell my pre-period bloat since my stomach balloons, and it isn't just food and water! LOL

OMG I used to be like this too, then I went on the pill! No problems since.

It totally sucks!! I gain 3-4 pounds, then it easily drops right off. That bloated feeling is juts the worse. Gross.
