I checked out the Curves near me and while I didn't join and this is a fairly uninformed opinion, I didn't like that it seemed like fitness day camp - I like being left alone and I didn't like their circuit - I want to do what I want to do in the order that I want to do it.

If you crave structure, it will probably be excellent for you.

I went to Curves for about a year a few years back. It was a great way to get my body moving and my heart rate up. It's also not very time consuming, which I think is a big plus.

I was doing the South Beach Diet at the time too, and lost about 25 lbs.

If you're not exercising now, it's a great, non-intimidating way to start.

I've been a member for over a year and love it! At first it seems that the workout session seems easy After a month I saw results! This past summer I went three times a week, and in the end of the summer my body was very toned.I haven't gone in the past two months because of school, and I really miss it! My toned muscles & thighs are getting flabby! The thing about curves is that its really good for people who want to tone down, and don't want to gain muscle mass.
