Contact users: Where do you get your eyes examed?

I need to get an eye exam for prescription contacts. I'm hoping to pay $75 or less. Is there anywhere that offer this low a price for contact exams? Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA!

I always get my eyes examed at the Texas State Optical (TSO), but obviously if you don't live in Texas that's not going to help. I'm not being sarcastic, but maybe Walmart has eye exams for under $75. Also, I get coupons all the time from Eyemasters, so maybe you should check for some good deals in the mail.

How about at Costco?? They have really cheap rates.

Also if you keep an eye out for Sears or JCpenny optical - they may have coupons for cheaper eye exams.

Great question. Does it matter if you have health insurance? As of right now I'm not covered and soon will be running out of contacts. I have to get a new prescription in order to get more contacts and am looking for the cheapest place get an eye examination.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I checked with my local Walmart they charge $115.
