To tell the truth...I think a little meat on the bones looks better than skinny. Especially as you get older!

I'm a skinny enthusiast.
But I will say that if you are not skinny the healthy way, you will not age well. I've managed to lose 15lbs this year from 117ish to 101ish... by cutting down the number of thick bacon cheeseburgers I ate and by increasing my fitness goals. My body looks awesome, but I am very conscious of the fact that my face does not have as much fats as it may need. I try to eat lots of good fats like avocados and I'm starting a good anti-aging skin care regimen early. |

Gimmethebag - How tall are you if you don't mind me asking? And how old are you too?My weight is around 115-117 and I'm 5ft 6 and 1/2 but my body does not look awesome. I've had three kids and do not exercise. I probably have a lot of potential if I made the committment.

I've used the iPhone's Lose It app to help me get to my goal weight. It helped me make smarter decisions, even when I was going to McDonald's. But I don't believe in just dieting... you'll lose weight, but you won't firm or tighten up. I was doing the elliptical for a few months and while I could tell a difference in my thighs, I wasn't really getting the results I wanted. I also don't really have time to get sweaty for an hour and then have to deal with showering and re-styling my hair everyday. My boyfriend suggested weight lifting and I've been doing a lot of the floor exercises they show in Shape magazine. Weight lifting is what has given me a DRAMATIC difference and it did not bulk me up bigger... in fact, I look skinnier and I am healthier than I ever was before. Push-ups are great because they tone your arms, shoulders, build up the muscles in your chest (I've noticed my breasts look perkier, and I have big boobies that can use all the help they can get), and work your abs all at the same time. For my face, I've started a new regimen. In the morning, I use Philosophy's Purity wash, their Hope firming serum and their Hope In A Jar moisturizer. I also use Smashbox's multi-vitamin makeup primer too... Then at night, I've been using my Purity cleanser and Differin gel. I've noticed that I haven't been looking as jowly or "mean"... so I recommend to anyone that is planning on losing more than 5lbs or toning up to really "up" your skincare routine so that way your face doesn't have any extra skin. (Kind of like Rachel Zoe...) |

It is, if it is artificially obtained by a person who is naturally not thin starving themselves.
Some people are ectomorphs. They are just tall, slender people. That's how they came from the factory. Other people are various othermorphs, and that's how they came from the factory, and all are equally beautiful or not beautiful depending 99% on how they feel about themselves and 1% on how well they have learned to decorate themselves with clothing and cosmetics and hairstyles and accessories. |

Hokaplan... the exhaustion from taking care of children and running around is what's making you not feel so great I think. and PMS is a PITA. Not sure if gaining weight will make you feel better but you should just eat what's good for you and not get all caught up in staying thin. The height and weight you mention makes me think of someone much younger, like their early 20s? I was around that weight in my teens/20s but did gain 15-20lbs in my mid to late 20s, and then a bit more later into my 30s...
