^^ It's half-way between Yam and Brandy. Really pretty, RMC. Did you add the charm?
And there is one outside slip pocket on the newer Havanas, behind the front zip, but it doesn't hold much. The older Havanas had front slip pockets, right? The magnet pockets are SO much more practical. I adore the side ones on my Trophy and (especially--they're slightly bigger) Tharpe. |

Oh, . Magnets really make my day! I <3 the ones on the back and sides of the Trophy! On my Ibiza, I've left all of the outside zips open, while easier access, not as safe or neat-looking.

I did see pics of your football, RMC, and it's a stunning brown and fab shape. You're spot-on about their 40's inspiration this time around. I do like the dressy&casual aspects of the Yves. And the name... Yves... so chic.
Since all of my winter/fall shoes are cool colored or black, I'm jiving for the purple hard. |

I love the grape leather and the back of the Yves is kinda nice if a bit plain but I hate that front flap and turnlock. It's just so Coach it turns me right off.
Hey - take a look at the cognac Yves in zoom mode...it looks pretty beat up. I've avoid that one come sample sale time. BTW, the older Havana has one slip pocket on the front. It's flat and measures 8" x 5". I don't have a new model but I believe its slip pocket is not as wide but it's taller and has some depth. |

I'm a little turned off, too. Oh, man... maybe I need an old style Havana to make me happy? |

OK, RMC, you've just sold me that Yves.
I already have my havana (1st HH purchase) and nothing from the new collection has caught my eye. The bags which offer the slightest bit of attraction to me are the Lilly and the Yves, but not so much that I'm thinking about them day and night. I didn't think I would "need" the Yves, but now I do!!

Well, my limited input was already covered by RMC and then some. I do have a VCP Havana lost somewhere in HH-UPS limbo. But that Yves Grape is pretty tasty. I would prefer the slip pockets on the Yves, but ultimately it would come down to this...which one can I find my crap in more easily!?

Probably the Yves, Laura. Shape and pockets. But give the Havana a chance!

I noticed this thread earlier and saved it to read when I had time to savor the information. Great pics and analysis. I have to say that I was drawn to the Yves from the very beginning but thought it might be stiff. Now that I read more about the cognac leather I'm even more interested.
I did notice the beat up nature of the pic on the HH website and wondered about that. It even looks dry to me. Strange. I have 2 groupons that I could apply to the Yves since it is more than $475. $498 - $350 (groupons applied) = $148 + $150 (cost of groupons) = $298. So I could get it for $298. If they go on sale for preorder and the cost drops below $475 I could only apply one groupon so I'm not sure I could get it for less by waiting anyways. Thoughts??? |

Salyca, at $298 you would be getting the Yves at 40% off. I think you need to wait. HH has usually done one "debut" sale when they have a few days of pre-sales for a 30-50% discount. Wouldn't that be better than spending 2 groupons? Even if it is only 30% off on the presale special, it would come out better than using 2 groupons to get the extra 10% off. KWIM?

Thanks RMC - that's exactly what I was looking for.
So if it drops 30% that would be $348.60 - $175 (one groupon applied) =$173.60 + $75.00 (cost of the groupon) = $248. So if it drops to 30% off then I could get it for $50 less than I could now. Okay - that's good enough for me! Now I just have to hope it drops 30% or more! The only thing is: having paid already for the groupons, if I get it now I have to spend $148 extra OOP (out of pocket). If I wait I have to spend $173 OOP even though I get the bag for $50 less. Weird how this groupon math works. |

I see the Coach similarities. To me, that's not a bad thing. I have a leather Coach that I love to use.

Not meant as a slam against Coach...but if I want a bag that looks like Coach, I'll shop at Coach. KWIM?

Has the great hobo debate ended? Who won?
We never even talked about NEWMAN. I'm still stuck on the seinfeld thing. |
