Hmm...I have a saddle tassel, yam Clara (& Staci) and that taupeish Vargas chain bag (?). I can try to take pics of them later. What is the actual color of the Vargas (sp? lol), anyone know??

^^ I think they actually did call it "Taupe", but maybe I'm just remembering what BlueFly called it, LOL! Might check out the Lookbooks Lu loaded (say that 5 times fast). I know it was in there...

Laura, the Maldives was a sample, yes :) I LOVE the 70s print! And you definitely need a GP something. It's a super-cool print, shots of chartreuse... it's great.

Mmmm, Sally, definitely an oakey Scotch or Cognac!

(And did everyone note my darling in the chair pic? I'm SO proud of her!! She's figured out how to get on top of the fridge and has so far pushed over Tupperwear containers of kibble and boxes of cereal!! *dripping with sarcasm*)

Jenni - I had to laugh out loud. I'm a cat lover and when I looked back at your pics I saw her and she looks so sweet and mischievous. But - when I first saw the pics I was so stunned by the beauty of the leather I saw nothing else! Must get more coffee (scuttles to kitchen).

Carlottalyn, I skimmed over the fact that you have the Staci! Please do post comparison pics (and show the lining on the Clara and Staci!)

Wow - sybaryte - gorgeous stuff.

I'm loving this honey/scotch/cognac-looking stuff.

OMG..Jenni..Syb..everyone..redhead alert!!! I want it all...all..do you hear me? But..I'm sticking to my ban about doubles in color or style or backups..so..I own one yam and that shall have to be enough!

BTW..not to be obvious but...uummmmm..FWIW..Yam is the color of the inside of a Yam after it has been baked forever.

Jenni..my Yam Shine Lorca is not the same color as your biblio tag. I'm going to get DD to take a photo tomorrow in the daylight..time to unveil this darlin'. Luggage and saddle are so close that it's hard to tell the difference at times..I have a tassel in what I think is Luggage and a Big Mimi in what I believe is Saddle..ditto with the photos..you know how bad I am but I really have to do this for you all.

slightly OT..because of Jenni's post about her beloved Wrigley...one of my favorite poets and author of children's books, Karla Kushin, passed. Saw her obit in the NYT and I cried. I used to read her books to my kids, The Upstairs Cats, The City Dog, Under My Hood I Have a Hat..so many others...and I often used her as a jumpoff point for elementary school creative writing classes..for all you cat lovers..and for you Jenni:

When a cat is asleep

There is nothing asleep

That is quite so asleep

As a cat.

She has finished with darting,

Careening and leaping

Now even the soft air around her is sleeping.

Thanks, Gingey

And Syb! Great photo! (I'm REALLY jealous of your Celina!!) Thanks for reminding us about Bark... so going light to dark, would you arrange them:

Saddle
Luggage
Bark
Yam

Jenn - That's probably right. Bark has distressing that can be darker in certain areas than Yam. Luggage doesn't have the orange of either Bark or Yam...and it's a different texture/finish as compared to Saddle. I think Luggage is a garment washed leather like Currant.

So, bottom line...while these are all in the same color range, they are all unique.

I cannot believe they didn't make that bag beyond the sample stage. It's perfect! If your closet ever gets too full and you decide to sell, give me first dibs. I like Wrigley sneaking into the shot like Abby, who is being a brat and a half. So far today, she's dragged off $3, a pair of tweezers and just now a 30" necklace. She hides them to trade. When she wants something, she drags them out and drops them in my lap. That's how she ended up wearing my cuff, she kept taking it. I swear, it's like having a toddler. Can't set anything down for a second.

Anyway, this thread makes me want Thanksgiving dinner and a good stiff drink. Like Gingey, I've stuck to the no doubles rule in bags. I need a yam cuff. (Love yours.) But I must choose my yam carefully. This thread has been a great help. Thanks for starting it.
