Default The Newman
The Newman is the upgrade to the Big-Clip Inka Hobo. Here are photos of my black Newman (a sample, the Newmans in production will not be 'quite' the same) and a black Big-Clip Inka, for reference.

Inka:

Newman, under the flap - note the TWO lovely pockets in one:

Inka on the left, Newman on the right ... note the detail difference:

All in all, I LOVE the upgrade. The Newman is my new must-have Hayden-Harnett, and he's coming in the Fall 2009 collection!!!

I heard the leather on the Newman is not very soft. I got the Byrne in the auction and the leather on that was not what I was used to with HH. I was wondering if for the sample stuff if they didn't use their best leathers.

What are the dimensions vs a Havana? And in the "Newman" family, won't there be a Havana look-alike and a Lorca look-alike?

Thanks for sharing. Is the strap long enough to wear cross body or it's strictly a shoulder bag?

Is the turnlock decorative or functional?

It's strictly a shoulder bag.

The leather they used in this sample is TDF. I can't stop petting it.

The size is the same as the Inka - approximately 4" deep, 11" tall, 13" wide.

The turnlock is functional ...?

Here's the page from the Fall 09 Lookbook that shows the Newman family:

Do you know if the Yves is bigger or smaller?

That's what I was remembering... it's like the Yves is in a Havana style and the Lily is like a Lorca. I LOVE the little tassels...

The prices look a little better on some of them too.

The Lido Quilted Hobo also had a double fold-over flap (sorry if that's a poor way to describe it), and I remember being surprised when I read that the turnlocks were only decorative, which is why I asked.

That's a perfect way to describe it. The Lookbook picture doesn't look like it has a double flap, so it will be interesting to see what finally comes out.

I love the turnlock - it's just classy, smooth, easy, better than a ring and a clip. HH really did it good this time!

Haven't a clue about the sizes - as usually, a pic by HH doesn't show the true size at all - we KNOW what size the Lorca is, we know what size the Newman Hobo is, and in that pic the Lorca looks tiny, and God knows what the Yves will be. Looking at the shape of it, I'll bet the Yves is the new Havana. But I could be wrong. :)

It gorgeous India! Thanks for the comparison. I am really digging the whole Newman family. I think Salina mentioned that the Yves is the reimagined Nico, but I don't know if that's true. There are definite similarities. I'm so excited about the fall collection and am pretty much over everything SS09. I'll have to remind myself of that next month

Thanks for sharing! I like the little pocket underneath the flap. the leather looks different but I'm glad to hear that you really like it Kind of a silly question but does this bag stand up on its own unstuffed, or does it need support?
