I agree, I would find it disappointing if anyone at HH was the previous owner of this bag. I would really like to know where the bag came from and why they are selling them. Real pics is something that should be done with these types of bags.

It's beautiful and looks like it should clean up well. It looks a bit more like a return than say a sample though.

Just for the record the description read "Only one of 50 ever made, this great small satchel is pretty worn. Leather is soft, some small surface stains, but overall in great shape."

Mind you the only thing I saw with any handle is of course darkening from use and a small teeny piece of edge sealant (1/4" underside of the handle) that I need to tack down w/ Bond 509. No evidence of any repairs or new stitching (?)

Someone loved this bag and used her regularly. The marks and patina she has didn't get there overnight. I'm kind of intrigued why they would sell it and who used her. I am happy with my purchase. The only thing I wish it had was the PM dustbag and PM bronze fob...but I am glad to get her!!
Oh, Congrats Ms. Liz. What a fab bag. I haven't finished reading the thread, but hopefully I'll see some modeling pics w/ your lovely bag. Do you think this was pre-owned by the designer or close friend? I didn't know they sold pre-owned or consignment bags. I have really old bags but I'm much gentler with them.

I believe Stormy said that a lot of times HH has bags they use or allow their gals to use. Not sure, but I am growing fonder of her by the moment. In fact i can't wait to get home and check her out again.

I do think when they are selling one of a kind, they shouldn't use stock pics. I think they should have also said no PM fob or dust bag. But I bought her to use so I'm ok with it. This won't be one of my bags that stay locked in my closet with tags and never enjoyed. I wouldn't mind down-sizing and having a small workable collection (yeah right )

As far as restoring her, I sent my BF out to Pepboys for the Lexol cleaner and conditioner products this morning. Stormy told me I have to be patient and clean her very good before applying the Wilson's in the end. I don't want her to look brand new, I love the worn in, Indiana Jones look .LOL.

I'm sure under Stormy's most knowledgeable guidance we can give Beatrice the attention and help she deserves to restore her to all her glory! Stormy did mention the option of sending her out to a place, but I kind of like doing it myself if I'm able. I used to love finding old killer Columbian leather backpacks and refurbishing them.
Thanks so much for sharing the pics Ms. Liz. Honestly, I was looking forward to seeing them even more than getting my own stuff! I know she will clean up beautifully. And who knows, you had some great luck in the sale, so maybe you'll stumble across the PM fob and dustbag too. So happy for you. She is a lucky bag to be so well loved.

Thank you for sharing Ms. Liz, I am anxious and excited for you. I really hope the end product will be just fabulous.

I'm also glad you're ok w/ the condition. I would have been furious... she is obviously w/ the right mom. :-) The leather looks devine... so smooshy... congrats again.

I'm usually a lurker, but just wanted to chime and say that bag is a beauty, I have some serious bag envy! I can't wait to see what she looks like after restoration - so glad she went to such a loving home!

Thanks ladies....I have all my supplies, but am a bit perturbed that I have jury duty next week. Unfortunately I work 3-11 shift so my whole day will be packed. I want to start on Ms. Bea STAT(under Stormy's expert guidance)

Maybe I'll get dismissed after the first day. Either way next weekend is totally open for me...and Ms. Bea!

I have to go with Syb's definition. When I first read "having a small workable collection" I almost choked in shock and then was reassured by your "yeah right" in parenthesis. Yep, Syb, you're right..."1. 100 handbags used by Ms.Liz (or sometimes her boyfriend) for carrying various small personal items." That's more like it, LOL.

Ms Liz - love the all-leather Beatrice. It has installed the choclolate all-leather Bea even more firmly at the top of my HG list. It is one of the only two vintage HH I have as a Holy Grail, the other being the Hudson Satchel in Persian Rose.

I can't figure why HH didn't keep making that bag. It is such a perfect bag. All the wonderful qualities of the fabric/leather Bea's - but a bit smaller, which would make those, who feel the combo Beas are too big feel, more comfortable with the bag. There is something about the hang, drape and balance of the Beatrice bag that is so wonderful - and no other HH bag has that same feel. I would imagine it is even more apparent in the all-leather.

It is my understanding they did 50 of the Saddle, 50 of the Chocolate. Whatever made them think that was enough to go around?
