Default New (Hopeful) Hottie Hits SS!!!
Hi Hotties:
Finally starting to post and meet everyone. I'm new to H-H but IN LOVE. My sister got me started with a Capri coin purse as a souvie from Brooklyn, and last month I scored a Beatrice in the red Harlequin (which I now use to haul my students' essays around in and look fab on campus) and then grabbed a Lorca in Indigo crinkle (for going out to our ONE nice restaurant in town) and a great cosmetics bag. It's been years since I lived in NY (grad school/poor) but having these works of art takes me right back... I can almost smell the burnt hotdogs and the particular smell of the 4/5/6 line to the Village... So here's a few pics of the bags (gulp!) modeled.

You're telling me! Now I want a Havana in a rich, orangey brown... the dilemma is do I wait for the spring orange (or fall...) or try for a gently loved Yam???

HUBBA HUBBA A NEW HOTTIE HAS ARRIVED
!!
Your bags are gorgeous!! You are gorgeous... the pics are gorgeous!!
LOL... never thought about putting a bag around my neck to get a full on shot...may have to try that next time!!
And I am also a HUUUGE fan of the HH cosmetics bag... It was my first purchase to test out the HH quaility and BOOM... it has been LOOOOVE ever since. I just scored another cosmetics case in vintage gold this past SS.. they are just too fab.
I am from NY...so I am definitely knowing what you speak of re: the dirty water dogs and stinky subway stations!!
:heart :

These are great! Don't you just love the indigo patent leather? I'm not a patent fan on the most part, but I can't stop looking at my Pilot.

I finally gave enough time to your story and bags that it deserved. I agree, the sloan looked HUGE on the HH models and I tended to shy away from it. For me, if a bag is large in the north/south direction it's better than if it's an East/West bag. Those tend to look way too big on me.

As for tiny bags like your coworker had you bring her, not for me. Even my Pompidou, which is small, I use as a wallet.

What a great haul!! Such gorgeous bags.....your pics are awesome and once again the Hotties pics are better than the site....Love the leather on the blueberry!!

I watched the Corc in khaki during HH's last blowout and this SS... and kept sitting on the fence. At the last hour -with 1 remaining - I took a chance and bought it. Like the Sloane blueberry, it said it was a final sale, so I felt I was a big time gambler. Wow, am I glad I ordered it. Of the 3, it is my fave and will probably become my day bag "grab-and-go" (shelved at the front door, alongside my Cole Haan Convertible Tote in Raisin). In no way does the khaki patent look like the HH site pics. It is not a "beige-ish" khaki (which is why I hesitated so long). It is not a dark tan either (as posts have said in this forum). Maybe mine is a sample colorway, because it is a beautiful light golden olive color. LUV. LUV. LUV.

The Sloane and the Tharpe are beautiful leather and I like them, but I have to say I probably won't use them as much because they are smaller than they appeared on the site. And, smaller than the dimensions looked like when I blocked them off in paper and measuring tape before I ordered. I see why you HH hotties like modeling pics to get more of a real-life sense of scale. Both the dark-haired model they use and the model in the street pics must be quite petite and fine-framed. The sloane looked huge on both. To me, it is more of a medium-sized satchel.

I am posting shots of just the bags for now. Later I will post with my sister modeling. She is 5'7" and a size 12. I won't post with me modeling, because it would be very confusing to judge size of any bag for most average-sized people. Unless we have a lot of 5'10", 300 lb HH hotties needing a size comparison, I will refrain from modeling. Most bags look quite petite on me.

A coworker carries that little Dooney barrel bag with the hearts on it. She left from a meeting to lunch one day, and asked me to bring it along with me. What a hoot. You should have seen how that litlle bitty bag looked on my wrist (far as it would ride). One "newbie" at work said "I didn't know you had a little girl". I don't think I have carried a bag that small since I was in kindergarten. And, yes, from 3 years old on, I never left home without my handbag. Loved them even then.

RealMcCoy -- great selection of bags! Glad you snatched up the Khaki Corcovado; I saw that in person at the SF SS and it's such a nice bag. Hope the other 2 will work out for you; that blueberry color is outstanding!

jennirane -- nice start to your HH collection. I love that you are using your Beatrice to haul around school papers--you must be a very stylish teacher!

RealMcCoy, fabulous buys! I really am sorry that the Corcovado is slightly to big for me...that is a GORGEOUS bag!

jennirane, you've put together a nice collection already. I think that you should go with a Yam HH Hobo, if you can find one. It is orangey without screaming halloween. The spring color looks more like a light coral to me, but I haven't seen it IRL.

mlinky, thanks! That's the way I'm leaning, if I can find one. or I might wait and see what Toni & Ben come out with for the fall. The "ginger" does look a little sherbet-y and I like a darker orange with some sunset to it.
