Namka..if I may call you that...aptly put. Perhaps we can tell our significant others that we are steadfast, patriotic, purse pursuing Americans (oooh my students would love the alliteration) who are doing our best to keep the factories producing and worker working to achieve the American dream..but what about the Canadians and all of the HHH who reside in other countries?

I think I am going to have to fast for a week, and do maximum penance but on the + side, two weeks ago, I managed to convince the gods of commerce who hold my Amex and MC hostage that I am credit worthy and now have a 0% finance charge for a year..I know it just prolongs the agony but it buys me time (and perhaps more HH pretties?? ACK just a fleeting thought, I see the rice on the floor for kneeling in penance, and perhaps a hair shirt...hmmm maybe HH makes those in my size??).

I owe....I owe it's off to work I go.....

Just tallied up the damage to my CC. OUCH! But on the other hand, I think a got a lot of bang for my bucks. I'm really stoked and can't wait for the two other boxes to get here.

Guess what? I still haven't unpacked everything but since I have to wait another day or two for the final boxes to arrive, I'll open the last box today. I know what's in there but I haven't seen them IRL. Posting prices even though it may seem gauche but y'all know how much they were since all of us couldn't keep away from the refresh button every time we logged onto the SS page (which for some reason is still up, but with no added stock).

So what did I wind up with? I can tell you what I bought but off the top of my head I'm not 100% sure of the prices in chronilogical order of SS:
Pre sample sale:
Joey Cuff in Brown Black X 2 for DD $50
First Day of Sale:
Bungalow Bag in Anthracite $82
Lorca Turnlock in Goldrush $100
Sonia Tote in Anthracite $82
Mercer Bag in Goldrush $164
Sao Paolo Crossbody in Black $127
At Physical Sample Sale
Ramone Cuffs in Yam, Platinum, Bronze, Black, Eggplant $45 each
Pre-production one of a kind Tan Crinkle Patent Corcovado $100
CBGB Belt in Ruby $25
Turnlock Wallet in Violet Crinkle Patent (tiny booboo in back) $45
Havana in Oyster (supposedly with booboo but I examine it in every
possible light source and I can't see anything) $100
Tharpe in Oyster with major blue marks in back and some crocking but
I'm going to experiment thanks to Stormy and try to fix or
overpaint it..stay tuned and please keep fingers crossed.
I'll post results on the appropriate thread $30
Marlowe Mirror in Black Leather $100
Marlowe Mirror in Black Patent $100
Floripa in Black/Goldrush/Tan tiny white hairline on back
of handle about 1/16 of an inch $100
minus 10% for all the physical SS stuff

The next day when they added these two items
Ipanema clutch $65
Lido Turnlock wallet Paule Morret lining $67

First day of "real" sample sale online this Sunday
Bungalow Wallet in Distressed Bronze $43
Bungalow Wallet in Black Bronze Whipsnake $43
Conrad in Yam $152

I think there's more but I have to look up the orders online.

Please note: I did not tally up the grand total because I simply don't want to. Total denial..I know it may not look too bad to some of the veterans but I wanted to get gifts and I couldn't blow my budget on some of the more pricey bags regardless of the lower prices..

I really would have liked something in blueberry or cordovan or bordeux..but when I saw the Spring '09 look book, there was a new metallic in what looks like a lime green, so I am so going to wait..to be continued later this evening...

The tune is from Disney's Snow White...

I owe, I owe, it's off to work I go.........
gingey - i hope you don't mind but i'm gonna show your list to my dh - then maybe my purchases won't look so bad.....

My first order is due to arrive tomorrow. As for the second, UPS won't track the number but being I ordered the first two orders within hours of each other, I'm hoping it will arrive tomorrow too, or else the following day. As for my biggie, the one with the Martine Jacket, it's scheduled to ship out of New York today so I'm figuring next week??

Smile I did it for the cause....
Hey wait....wanton spending my Aunt Fanny Derriere....and after hearing about all of your previous rampages that denuded the sample sales in the past. Please be kind to a newbie with a serious HH lust.

Oh sheesh..in the name of full disclosure, I just realized that I forgot two Celine cuffs bought on Sunday in Violet Crinkle Patent at whatever....and another Bungalow Wallet in Distressed Bronze @$43 (selective amnesia perhaps???)

Ok here comes some serious rationalization and creative accounting, one of my specialties that has been honed over the years.

If you total the prices for the sales items (and perhaps minus the cost of gifts) and then add up the non-sale prices, and factor in the fact that you dudettes have had months if not years of purchases/sample sales etc...I come out looking relatively frugal.

OK maybe I did overdue it a tad...(sigh) but look at what booty I did get.

Here are the gifts. One Bungalow Wallet to Mom (also getting her something else, she's 82 I doubt she'll want a Ramone cuff), Joey Cuff and Ramone Cuff to 2DD, CBGB belt to younger DD and the Ipanema clutch to the older one (HEHEHEH I get to borrow them..payback is a byatch), 2 best friends. One gets the other Bungalow wallet and the other gets the 2nd Celine cuff in Violet Crinkle Patent.

Now here's the kicker....plus one bag purchased in the name of scientific progress to further the knowledge base of all HHH with boo boo Oysters and other light colors, Oyster Tharpe. (Stormy Leather thank you for your input). So far, one solution did not pan out..(report will be posted on proper thread). Looks like I will have to resort to far more drastic measure.

OK...perhaps this is why I was enticed by Big Mimi on ebay so that I will lay myself down on the line for all of you HH Hotties of which I hope to become one soon with permission from the nominating committee. I did it for the cause.

With great courage and for the betterment of all, I will sacrifice myself for all of you. Feel free to show any significant other my extravagance if it will keep him/her/it from foaming at the mouth.

Blindfold, cigarette and final words to come... please join me for before the execution. With all my Gingey

My order shipped and should be here tomorrow. I got:

Clutch Wallet, Ruby
Paule Marrot Editions Rectangular Case, Grey Floral
Margot Fabric Eyeglass Case, Blue Batik
Alfie Bird-Clip Keychain, Luggage

My husband doesn't know about the two cases, but I figure they were small enough amounts it won't hurt.

I just saw that one of the passport covers I ordered wouldn't ship until January. I'm kinda sad about it because I was trying so hard to get two of those for my mom and dad. They are really difficult to buy for and already have everything! I might have to just order one at the regular price that is ready to ship.

LOL ....Isn't there a mandatory probationary period before I even become an HHH...forget about the nominating committee?

Or perhaps since my CC is on probation and probably house arrest with an ankle bracelet the period might be shortened a tad. What is it about these bags that are so alluring. Genie will come out as soon as I let her because I've been too busy to give her more than bread and water for a bit. She probably won't want to share the lockdown with my CC anyway.

I'm considering putting up some of my designer shoe finds on evilbay to support this habit. You know, the ones that don't match my new HH lovelies.

Based on what I'm seeing on this thread, I wonder if the rest of my rampage will make it here in time for gift giving...

I think I've been practical with this sale. I should say before HH I had two nice designer purses for going out and just junky daytime purses. I got the Sao Paulo messenger bag on sale as a junky daytime purse and was blown away by the quality. So the HH bags I've bought on sale since then just replaced some junky old purses I'd had a long time.
I'm not sure about my two fabric Paule Marrot bags but I've been rough on the Sau Paolo and it's only looking better. I bet I'll have it for years so it was money well spent.

Oops I forgot to say what I got:
Corcovado khaki patent $208
Mireille clutch $82
Tokyo black clutch on BlueFly on a 25% sale day ( I would have told you guys but it was late in the day and sale was almost over)
I think they were all very fair and generous deals from HH.
