FYI, I have the clutch and the folding-over aspect gets better the more you use. I really like it -- it's a great size for going out, and the pockets in the outside front are very convenient.

got my pre-sale stuff today - was disappointed with the ipod cases - i thought i could fit my iphone in it, but its too small - my fault, it didn't say for iphone, oh well --- it will be a good gift for friends who actually have ipods.
everything else was cool - loved my staci in yam, slight imperfection on the metal clasp, but i can live with it - considering the deal i got on it. the porte fab in yam went perfectly with it.... now, i can't wait for the next batch....coming soon i hope...they keep on delaying my shipment, this morning it was supposed to go out today, tonight, it said it will ship out tomorrow....i guess the sale was a success so lots of orders....... |

So I have been slow in visiting the confessional, but here we go ... Three of my five orders have shipped [yep, you read that correctly] and one has cleared customs. An aside: It was so much fun looking at the images of the items listed on the order tracking page. Was just delighted to see my favourites all concentrated together like that rather than spread among all the other sale items on the webpage. Concentrated nuggets of goodness. Most of the orders were collections of little items [for stocking stuffers, etc. I tell myself but we'll see if I can let them go], but here are the highlights among the larger purchases, some of which I've already mentioned but which I list here in the interest of (somewhat) full disclosure: - Plume Silk Wrap Dress, Black Feather (don't know if this will fit a top-heavy gal like me, but we'll see...) - Marcel Clutch, Black Zeus - Clara Flap Bag, Black Zeus - Floripa clutch, Black Patent/Metallic - Celina signature cuffs: Violet Crinkle, Grey, Ruby - Havana Large Hobo, Black - Magna Folio Tote, Black Multi - Clara Clutch Wallet, Yam The last three were total impulse buys from the final, final sale -- so fingers crossed that the blemishes are minor. If only absolution were an option. However, they say the credit card companies will be the next to shoe to drop in our economic crisis and, in fact, Amex has just declared its intention to convert to a bank holding company. So I'm like Hans Brinker with my finger in the dyke, holding back the flood of credit card company collapses with my HH purchases. That may be the lamest justification that mixes the most metaphors in tPF history! |

Namka..if I may call you that...aptly put. Perhaps we can tell our significant others that we are steadfast, patriotic, purse pursuing Americans (oooh my students would love the alliteration) who are doing our best to keep the factories producing and worker working to achieve the American dream..but what about the Canadians and all of the HHH who reside in other countries? ![]() I think I am going to have to fast for a week, and do maximum penance but on the + side, two weeks ago, I managed to convince the gods of commerce who hold my Amex and MC hostage that I am credit worthy and now have a 0% finance charge for a year..I know it just prolongs the agony but it buys me time (and perhaps more HH pretties?? ACK just a fleeting thought, I see the rice on the floor for kneeling in penance, and perhaps a hair shirt...hmmm maybe HH makes those in my size??). I owe....I owe it's off to work I go.....Just tallied up the damage to my CC. OUCH! But on the other hand, I think a got a lot of bang for my bucks. I'm really stoked and can't wait for the two other boxes to get here. Guess what? I still haven't unpacked everything but since I have to wait another day or two for the final boxes to arrive, I'll open the last box today. I know what's in there but I haven't seen them IRL. Posting prices even though it may seem gauche but y'all know how much they were since all of us couldn't keep away from the refresh button every time we logged onto the SS page (which for some reason is still up, but with no added stock). So what did I wind up with? I can tell you what I bought but off the top of my head I'm not 100% sure of the prices in chronilogical order of SS: Pre sample sale: Joey Cuff in Brown Black X 2 for DD $50 First Day of Sale: Bungalow Bag in Anthracite $82 Lorca Turnlock in Goldrush $100 Sonia Tote in Anthracite $82 Mercer Bag in Goldrush $164 Sao Paolo Crossbody in Black $127 At Physical Sample Sale Ramone Cuffs in Yam, Platinum, Bronze, Black, Eggplant $45 each Pre-production one of a kind Tan Crinkle Patent Corcovado $100 CBGB Belt in Ruby $25 Turnlock Wallet in Violet Crinkle Patent (tiny booboo in back) $45 Havana in Oyster (supposedly with booboo but I examine it in every possible light source and I can't see anything) $100 Tharpe in Oyster with major blue marks in back and some crocking but I'm going to experiment thanks to Stormy and try to fix or overpaint it..stay tuned and please keep fingers crossed. I'll post results on the appropriate thread $30 Marlowe Mirror in Black Leather $100 Marlowe Mirror in Black Patent $100 Floripa in Black/Goldrush/Tan tiny white hairline on back of handle about 1/16 of an inch $100 minus 10% for all the physical SS stuff The next day when they added these two items Ipanema clutch $65 Lido Turnlock wallet Paule Morret lining $67 First day of "real" sample sale online this Sunday Bungalow Wallet in Distressed Bronze $43 Bungalow Wallet in Black Bronze Whipsnake $43 Conrad in Yam $152 I think there's more but I have to look up the orders online. Please note: I did not tally up the grand total because I simply don't want to. Total denial..I know it may not look too bad to some of the veterans but I wanted to get gifts and I couldn't blow my budget on some of the more pricey bags regardless of the lower prices.. I really would have liked something in blueberry or cordovan or bordeux..but when I saw the Spring '09 look book, there was a new metallic in what looks like a lime green, so I am so going to wait..to be continued later this evening... The tune is from Disney's Snow White... I owe, I owe, it's off to work I go.. .......

Hey gang.....I'm just
with envy at all of your luscious purchases!!!I did show some restraint.....got my Yoko dress (let's keep our fingers crossed that it fits AND looks good) and a couple of other small items that I will not disclose.......cuz they are "giftie" like things that could end up in a RAOK!!!! And indeed NamkhaDrolma - I've been expecting "the other shoe to drop" and was wondering IF this would happen before or after the Holidays? DH has been busy busy busy w/the regulators w/his many clients wanting to convert over to bank holding companies....did U by chance read the very interesting NYT article about ML??? On a happier note...I think you're plume dress will fit you nicely!!! jandelvis has the Hitchcock (I believe similar cut??) and she mentioned that it would fit better if one had "more on top" (I can say this cuz I'm also pretty boob-less!) LOL! |

Also really loving the Magna Tote - so so cool! Can't wait for a review of that one!Re the Plume dress - if it's cut the same way as the Hitchcock, you'll be all set! it's definitely a more womanly cut. More room for boobs than DVF wrap dresses, for example. and the Floripa... well you are going to just love it!

The HH wrap dresses are so pretty! I have not had much success with wraps in general because in my experience the split would open up as I walked and show waaay too much leg. Can anyone comment if this is a problem with the HH wraps? I am always tempted by them regardless.
