Oh... you HAD to bring up the canvas Wyeth. IF ONLY I'd known you then... sent you cash. Sigh. Someone somewhere has my dream tote.

Yeah... black and yellow is a bit much.
The best "pop" though is always to pair opposites from the color wheel... so Grape Shine with Ginger pleats?

I do like the Euc/Lagoon combo, too. I'm a chicken... I'd want some kind of neutral with an outrageous pleat, rather than vice-versa. On the outside, sedate, intellectual prof. On the inside BOOM! Tequila-drinking, radical, stand-up comic hot mama! (That would be the Lagoon

PS. Euc/Lagoon skips fall and goes straight into winter. Think glaciers.

Eucalyptus may have issues with morphing into a deeper green in places..(she says as she looks lovingly at her new Maddies!)..

Why no love for Yam Shine? (Not with black..too Halloween-y).

Brandy with Lagoon (and that watery pattern lining?)

What about same color, different texture? IDK..slightly brain dead..needs coffee...deep dark pure cacao bit laced Chocolate..arugala with sunflower seeds and provolone cheese..and heirloom tomatoes in a salad...a massage..sleep...a new life?

More later..chicas...I am still in love with Yam Shine..btw.

Yam shine RULZ, Gingey! I've got a teeny taste of it in my Biblio tag... it's so odd that my Yam Tharpe darkened to the point that they match perfectly :)

Yam Shine and Grape Shine pleats.

WOW missty, you're so brave to think about going with two colors! This bag is gonna be super special. If you decide against it, maybe think about doing two different leather types of the same color. For some reason black shine and black suede sounds exciting to me right now. Or purple shine/purple suede. Maybe I am nutz though

Default Update yeaaa!
Hi Thuy,

Attached are sketches based on your ideas (one shown with the braided shoulder strap as BIBLIO bag, the other without to show detail). The grey areas are to indicate contrast color, if you'd like. Of course all of this is very flexible.

I think you wanted to add a patchwork detail on the front pocket flap, if you'd like you can print out the sketch and draw the artwork on it or send the artwork separately and I can fit it on to the flap when I spec out the bag.

Let me know what you think, thanks!
Joanne

I only included one of the sketches since I had to convert the PDF into a JPG (the other one is basically without the strap).

Email from Joanne! My excitement for the DYOB is revitalized!
I like how this is rolling out

Thoughts, ideas, comments?

Wow, it looks great! The only thing that caught my eye was having both the horizontal contrasting piece and the scoop-shaped piece (is that a pocket flap? wasn't sure) on the front. It may end up looking a little busy (or too face-like?), but keep in mind I have very minimalist taste.

Do you like the braided strap? I think it looks great, plus I love the wrap detail on the shorter straps. This is all so cool!!

Yay! Thanks for all the comments :)

I'm not sure about the color scheme yet, if the contrasting colors are going to roll out or not. My BF pointed out maybe a sand (main) and brown (secondary) combination. Browns I was thinking the new chocolate color for fall (via paela's tobias clutch) but I don't have much HH history to know what leathers are available in a sand/tan color. But that's one idea.

Color schemes thinking of (primary/secondary):

Black shine/Grape Shine - but is it too boring?
Grape Shine/Aubergine? - idea of one color but different types of leather via gingey
Tan?/Chocolate
Eucalyptus/Lagoon - too scuff-prone?

still thinking...

The front would have a front flap packet with a decal yet developed. The bar across connecting the loop handles I got from the trophy, but I'm not sure if I want it as a contrasting color or not. Or maybe go with something entirely different, haha :P
