CONGRATULATIONS, MISSTY!!

I can't wait to see your bags! Your sketches are amazing, though so you should somehow find a way to incorporate it into the product. Maybe as the cover of a thank you card, secretly stashed inside the bag..a nice surprise for shoppers..kinda like how Coach sends Thank you cards after each purchase...My idea may be corny but i'm sure you catch my drift.. Good luck, and I'm sure they'll treat you favorably!

I found your thread through the link in your siggie and just read all the way through. Wow, your Thanh bag is a beautiful design and I love your goldfish charm too!

I enjoyed your thought/design process from conception (samurai) to the latest sketches.

Please do keep us updated with pics of the bag and also if HH plans to sell the bag and/or the goldfish charm!

bags4fun, totah, ballet_flats, AmbassadorBri, redney - thank you for all your kind, supportive words. Kinda cool that I'm getting love from all over and I can't wait for this to pan out.

annam, faf - I sent the final revisions to HH maybe 2 weeks ago and Joanne said she'd send me the final specs, but haven't heard. Anyhoo, it'll be around 6 weeks for the proto to be pumped out, so I'm guessing another month? I'll probably see it around the same time of the unveiling of the biblio and trophy satchel, or past that since there's so much hoopla trying to get them in

From Joanne:

Hi Thuy,

Your goldfish and proto are here!

Our sample room had trouble with the katana braid, they couldn't
figure it out from the photos. Is there an actual sample you can send
me so they can see it? Otherwise, I think we'll have to find another
solution.

The sample came out a little more east-west than I spec'd somehow. it
became 18"w x 12"h instead of 16"w x 14"h. We can correct this,
unless you don't mind the east-west shape. Please note that the proto
is in PVC and missing some hardware (the sample room does this to save
cost). The trim mtl placement is wrong too, but our sample room is
aware of this and we'll correct it for your final bag!

Also attached photo of Trophy and your bag side by side for scale.
Let me know your comments.

Will you give me your address so I can send you the goldifsh? Hope you like it!

It's missing some trim accents (front pleats) and the top trim is misplaced. It's a little fatter sideways and the finishing touch of the katana braiding of the top handles is a mystery for the sample crew. Hmm... maybe I should send them a katana, lol.

I envisioned maybe leather wrapped around pliable metal wire, then wrapped around the base of the top handles to give it structure. Or if that's too complex, maybe just thick leather wrapped around would work. I'm just afraid it might come undone.
