Ok, while we wait for this BB to pick up, let me divert you with what I have so far: :)
Hi Thuy, Thanks for the new sketches. I know what you mean about reducing "busy-ness" but I kind of liked the curved heart, and thought the angled bars tied the bag to the "origami" idea of the goldfish charm. I'm attaching a sketch of it with the rivets removed just to see. Of the two, I prefer the arches that are narrower at the bottom, it feels like it has more dimension. We can try some things with it so it lines up or add a little something at the top of the lock so it doesn't look as obvious (like the tab we have on our Trophy bag). As for the timeline, we'll have to check with our sample room on the specific dates, but we generally try to work within a couple of weeks of getting the proto to make revisions. Sorry about the missing feet, I think I used an old sketch. The final product will have metal feet. Thanks, Joanne ![]() I kinda like a little bit of each, so I thought I can get some votes the HHHotties since you helped me this far :) This might be it, the final product... Joanne has a preference for #1. I asked ZAnPon and it sounds like he likes #1 (and his opinion means a lot to me, /sighs) I'll make a voting thread in a bit, here it goes! |

hehe, I think I posted your answer to this the first time you asked in the poll too.
Help me choose my final revision - missty's design for Hayden Harnett! (there's pictures of the swatches, although i think eucalyptus looks darker than it regularly is and Joanne said I shouldn't take it for face value) White with eucalyptus contrasting trim

![]() I think I'm more or less done with the design tweeking of the bag. Now what's left is figuring out dimensions and interior design/lining. It's kinda put on hold for a moment since work is taking up most of my time now, and I'm going on vacation soon too (yay!) The design project with HH - I won a bidding auction when HH was having their auction of fall sample items - and knowing HH's quirkiness, they had an auction where the winning bidder can design their "dream bag." They took the five top winners (which I think are all TPF'rs) and at least 3 of us have "DYOB" threads running on here. I'm really excited about this! I think I need to wrap this up soon so I can get the production going

First, I LOVE this bag, can't wait to see the real thing! As an avid bag buyer and art director...number 1 is my least favorite. Here's why: It is the only one where the insets on the flap kinda of interupt the flow of the design, both 2 and 3 just seems to have a better flow to me. The pointed insets just look a little clumsy and less designed to me. JMO. Thanks so much for sharing!

Hi Thuy,
Your goldfish charm prototype is here! Attached are some photos. I think it's pretty darn cute, let me know what you think and what color you'd like it to be in for the final product. Thanks, Joanne ![]()

THAT'S PERFECT!! You should keep it in gold, IMO - or at least something metallic! Silver metallic and white would be pretty too! Wow how awesome is it to see a vision come to life?

I love it. And I love it in gold, but silver on euc / white bag would be awesome.I think I'd want the cord / string a little shorter, though, just so it didn't get caught in something.

hey thuy, i've been lurking on your amazing adventure for a while and this is really coming along! You've got a great eye and a truly creative spirit. Your approach to this project is both intellectual and artistic (or artistically intellectual? intellectually artistic? :)) Thanks for sharing with us.
I ADORE this charm, but my one suggestion would be to add some kind of leather backing to the back of it, maybe in a contrasting color? Something to both cover the stitch marks and clean up the line of the back, since the charm will invariably flip over when hanging off a bag. If you were going to go with the goldrush fish, perhaps an oyster backing? The gold-toned thread that they are using here would be a lovely contrast to oyster or moonbeam or some such glam neutral. Or the olive sueade for some texture? maybe that's too random... Now that I think of it, a fabric (swirly silk, et al) could be a pretty backing as well, but seems like it would be a structural challenge, not to mention the nightmare of keeping it clean. Here's to dreams, though... |
