Thuy, the goldfish would be cute in a metallic, too. Flash of scales and all that. What's the warmest metallic they ever did? Goldrush? Would be pretty in Moonbeam, too, and would look gorgeous against the Euc/White combo.

Right, the havana would have been the biggest. There was also the clara and conrad. I'm feeling the same way with the grape shine jenni. The fall collection is going to be dangerous.

Moonbeam AND Goldrush??
Where's RMC when we need her... what, does she WORK for a living?? (It's SO bloody hard being a professor on summer break... it's exhausting riding my Electra cruiser downtown for yoga and then slogging through Pride and Prejudice and Zombies while munching a bagel with artichoke and spinach schmear... and THEN I have to water the herb garden and give myself a pedicure. I'm just wasted after all that...) |

Oh, there was the Emile. Was he bigger than the Havana and Clara? But none of them (but the Clara) were really _detail_ bags... I think the Yam shine is going to be breathtaking. |

OH OH OH Thuy... ask them if they have any LEAD leather left anywhere... the goldfish would look great it that! It would be like the silver paper you see in origami.
But not goldfish-y... |

So far NYC is there first pick and Seattle is there second. I prefer Seattle cuz I've lived there before and the mountains are nice. Keep me informed if you have a trip planned for NYC cuz we for sure should have a Hottie Hookup.Goldfish- I think it would look awesome in Metallic Indigo & White or Plum that would be cool too. The Thanh Bag... It has a nice ring to it and that is so sweet of you to name it after your grandmother. If I named one after my nana it wouldn't be as cool....Oksanochka |

![]() Same without VCP. Added goldrush. ![]() If you all haven't seen the fashion show photos matched to Siamese fighting fish, you need to look at them. Beautiful. Simply beautiful. I saw these over the weekend. Went back for the link. Hope this works: Rodarte's Siamese Fighting Fish meet Runway Fashion |

Jenn, you have a rough life!
![]() Thuy, your project is really coming together! It's very exciting watching it come alive, step by step. And HH should totally do a line of origami-inspired charms. I'd get one of each! |

I love the whole bag process before. The fish charm is beyond cute, and I really hope they make it (if you don't mind sharing, Thuy). Although I think the charm would look best all in one color palette (shine vs. matte). But that's just my .02
Have you decided on the cross-body strap? I maybe wouldn't do it in white, since that is something that would get handled a lot. |

Paelaf, jenn - thank you for your encouraging words. I showed it to my guy friend and he recommended me to talk to his friend, which is a fashion consultant. I guess she was right next to him when I sent him pictures of what it looks like so far, and she said she thought the bag looked ok, but prefers more streamlined bags (loved the goldfish charm though). I keep on thinking maybe I should start from scratch again and try something else, but I know that's just me being me when it comes to projects. I tried your idea of running away jenn - I didn't go back to the DYOB thread and try not to think about bags for a while.
For the goldfish - I was thinking about a moonbeam fish too. Moonbeam and goldrush would be heavenly, jenni - the image is so elegant/decadent. lulu - I'm waiting for flight prices to drop. I go to www.farecast.com to check out what the probability of deals will come around - and www.sidestep.com (like a metacrawler search engine) to find cheap prices. RMC - thanks for dropping by and putting down your mad PS skillz on goldie! I think I'll try mocking some up too for fun The siamese fish fashion link didn't work, maybe I'll try googling itcciele, travelmom - it's cool to watch all of this coming together. I bet if I were on the other side it would look amazing. It's like a "reality" show. Instead of "So You Think You Can Dance?" it's like, "So You Think You Can Design a Bag?" Where's melissa and luciana at with their projects? ![]() gestapolollipop - I was originally thinking about one color pallette with different textures - yam with contrasting yam shine. Since I got the contrast in my bag, I figure one color would work better for a charm to accent the bag. But if it's going into production, I think it should definitely come in different colors/contrasts. The cross-body strap (if I were to go with it), for color-scheme purposes I would like to stay white. For practicality, a different color would hide flaws that would come with age. I just recently got my first balenciaga twiggy in ivory white today. The seller mentioned it was used 3 times and color variations are normal in the bag, but it looks like it got tanned in the sun alot with all the darkened, more yellow-creamy coloring to it. The bottom is white, the spots that don't see sun are white, and everything else got yellowed. I'm not complaining (though it feels like it might've been used more than just 3 times to reach that spot, even though she got it in the summer), but definitely keeping that in mind when I'm designing my own bag. |

![]() paelaf's mod I took paelaf's mod another step and came up with this: ![]() It doesn't look much different. Basically the "curved-heart" is lowered so the lines would line up with the corners of the studded border if it's drawn at an angle. Instead of straight across, I thought this would give it more streamline look, perhaps. I added red lines to help illustrate this, since it's easier than describing with words ![]() ![]() The only thing is I didn't fix the curved heart when I cropped it. It looks a bit more loose since I cropped the bottom part off, so the arch needs to be adjusted so it looks more put together, more "zippered-up." Also, if I were to lower the inner design, I wonder how the leather would hold up structurally. Would it smoosh more in that section? Or would I need that extra structure and stick with the first design. |

I think that's a really nice improvement thuy. Why don't you just give yourself the weekend to work on some other ideas? Maybe you'll come up with something else, but I bet you'll end up going back to this and realize you love it after all
I don't know if I would put too much stock in that streamlined comment--not really a word I associate with HH.
