i'm feeling a little sheepish when i think about all the $$$... i recently acquired a lot more closet space so it's no longer about the clutter, but more the lump sum i'm imagining could be sitting in a retirement account. but looking/feeling fab is also important for my health and well being, right?

No doubt!! I know what you're saying though. There needs to be a balance. I would love to see pics of the rizzo--I'm kicking myself that I never got that one...gorgeous!
