I just sent a reply to Ben's original email.
I did that too but the address was support@hh and that never works for me. I had hoped to get Ben directly but I've wasted too much time as it is.

I think Syb might have Ben's email, maybe you could PM her for it?

I admit I put about 50 email addresses in the ball for curiousity's sake. But I wouldn't have been able to use the codes because they aren't real email addresses. It isn't my fault that they didn't code it so only a valid email addy could be used. I was curious, so I made up some to see how often good codes would come out, and because I was bored while my boyfriend watched Dirty Jobs. I was just curious. I wasn't trying to screw anything up!

I also admit that I made a big order when the glitch happened. I knew they wouldn't honor it, but I thought they'd maybe make a concession. Considering that I am waiting on my birthday present I ordered for myself (Sophia card case), and it never was listed as backordered, neither was anything else in the other order I am waiting for (Ramones). I would have combined those orders with the order now and saved the shipping had I known they were going to be this late. I am pissed.

I don't really want to cancel my whole order, but I probably will because it's just too much of a headache.

I am really disappointed that Ben wrote that. I did use 2 email addresses and I feel kind of bad about that, but they were both somehow accidentally registered already and I have been sent quite a lot of advertisements from them on both accounts. I did not make a new one up.

I get why there are restrictions are groupons although I disagree with the retroactive rules. I think they were just trying to reel in new customers with the groupons and got overloaded with, well, us. The store credit is just not right though and I don't know in what universe their logic makes sense.

I understand why they want to keep everything under their control and not have big stores sell their products, but if they are going to take on that task, they've got to do it right. They are upsetting a lot of people right now and people who are fed up with HH's service have almost nowhere else to get new HH products. There are the auction sites, but if the source runs dry, what can you do? For example, people are really turned off from ordering directing from the RM website. The shipping is extremely high. But they have so many other places to go to, it's keeping the brand strong.

I know that some people wouldn't buy if the prices were higher, but overall they might keep more customers if there were less sales and people knew what they were working with.

Well, I finally reached my "breaking point" here. Have fired off an email to Lina stating what is happening with Groupons and that I want a resolution NOW! Just got off the phone with HH - Ben is conveniently not there and seems to have dumped this entire mess in Salina's lap. I spoke with Melissa and aired all my grievances and then she spoke with Salina and they have to call me back because apparently no one can explain the math to me at this point! I'm also returning the Michelle scarf today - I can't return the Origami when it comes because I think it's final sale but that's fine - was cheap and I used a Groupon - if I don't love it someone I know will I still have two cuffs on backorder and I'm canceling my TS that I bought on the Chilly sale unless they tell me that I really don't owe them more money on it! Now, what to do with 4 remaining Groupons - oh, joy! When I think about how many people I've referred to HH, I'm just sick - I hope they aren't all having these types of issues.

Price glitches in the latest sale -- yes, this happened. A number of discount codes when combined in a certain way with other discount codes caused an excessive discount to be given to the point where some merchandise was virtually free.
The glitch that I experienced on day 1 wasn't from combining codes. For me, sale prices were shown on the sale page, then there was a credit given on checkout--and it wasn't at an excessive discount. Ben's email reads like the glitch came from the customers doing something inappropriate, when in fact the first day all the glitches seem to have come from their end.

That is my question too. Without knowing how store credit works, it makes the whole answer meaningless. I looked thru their FAQ and didn't see anything concerning store credit.

I did the same thing for fun, too - after I got a 40% code and a 50% code in my two registered email address and did one for my dad to use and he got 60%!!

I had placed my orders already and used groupons up....but I wanted to see the different language in the different offers that people were talking about to better understand if my purchases were accurate.

Honestly, you can be at a public PC and have different people sign up all day long.

I'm just irked because as someone else said, I dont' recall seeing anyone here saying that they got a better code and they hope hH doesn't find out! Nobody did anything that was prohibited! I have 2 registered accounts with HH because I had forgotten that I signed up a very long time ago. And, what the heck, sometimes you get a new address and you decide you want to use that - and guess what HH??? YOU HAVE NO "MY ACCOUNT" section of your website where we can manage our info and change our address!! So, really, we HAVE to add an address. I mean geez, how to treat your customers like shit! How many times have you signed up for something quickly with a work email only to realize you want it on your home email?

And Ben has the audacity to imply we're being sneaky.

Someone once told me that people see what they know - seems to me that Ben 'sees' sneaky behavior for a reason.

Ugh, I don't like myself when I get this irked by something...shopping is supposed to give you a high....not bring about tension. Sheesh! How I wish I could stop liking HH.....(as I gaze lovingly at my blueberry lorca - I just love every bit of detail on that quirky bag...quirky because it's hard to close quickly as I leave the supermarket and everything has to be arranged just so...but i love it, dammit I love it. )

Siouxie - I agree with everything you said. I know I'm somewhat of a newbie. It's taken me 6 months to get around to actually purchasing from HH (and bought my 1st groupon). I like the bags, but I like a lot of bags. I gravitate here at the HH forum because I really like and enjoy all the hotties. I know I'll still hang around, but after I figure out what to do with my semi-useless groupon, any HH I buy will be from ebay. The bay seems much, much less scarier than buying from HH.
So, HH, you've lost a customer before the first item left Brooklyn, or whatever.

This is so sad. I wish they would just get their act together. I have only ordered one thing straight from HH and the shipping was crazy. I've been trying to resist the sales bc of this type of honk.

Exactly, paelaf. I did use FALLHH, but the wording of my code indicated that I could.

That sounds like a plan!! The hotties here are great and as you said, there are other places to get the goods!!

I really think we need to tweet this up - both to HH directly and on our own twitters just marking #hayden_harnett ....and to our legal experts here - aren't store credits same as cash, except with expiration dates? This is cuckoo!

I don't understand the moral high horse about using multiple email addresses to get the best codes. The code you get is issued by HH, so they've already decided that they are willing to give that discount to a consumer. The discount is to entice the consumer to buy, but each one has their own threshold for when they're willing to make a purchase. If someone is trying multiple times it means they weren't going to buy at 25% with free shipping anyways. If you don't want them to get something at 60% off, then don't offer a 60% off coupon.

So my sister got a 40% off code and I got a 50% off code, so I ordered her a bag along with my order to get her the better discount - is that considered shady too?

I think my HH collecting days are over =/
