Thanks y'all!

I just got so wrapped up in the creation of such jewelry and why. Jewelry that had soul and was OOAK. And the stones!

lunarlu-the cuffs don't fall off if they fit. They are 'sized' so to speak in that you want one w/ an inner (end to end) measurement that is the same size as your wrist or a bit bigger. My wrist is 5 1/4", so I usually look for 5 1/2" cuffs. If the cuff is really wide (2"+), you might can go up 1/4" b/c of the taper of the muscle. Most cuffs are gently adjustable; I like to have a gap of 1". If the cuff is very heavy silver or has a heavy center stone, you need to get the fit as close to your wrist size as possible. In this case, the weight of the cuff will cause it to roll and fall off. Since the stones are untreated and set on a bed of sawdust in their bezels, you have to be cautious. Any reputable dealer can assist you with fit. (sorry about that looong answer.)

jennirane- I want your celinas!

mothbeast-I've been scoping that same ON coat!

Clutched, those are BEAUTIFUL!
I'd love to find out more about your jewelry and the artists. I have always wanted to start collecting Native American pieces but have found the ones I've been attracted to to be out of my price range. Seeing your pics make me want to save up for my first piece. Any info (websites, esp.) would be appreciated.

That coat is super cute and weakening my "no more new coats" resolve.

The jewelry is stunning, especially as a group. I can see the temptation to collect.

Hey Hotties, I'm wondering if anyone wants to name some fabulous up-and-coming indie bag designers, since, well, you know... we're having a little rough patch with the Man. (LOL)

Clothing-wise, I'm good: I have found plenty of good stuff at Etsy and my not-so-new loves, Suzabelle and Inhabit. Shoes? Yeah, I got shoes. But besides the usual suspects (RM, Botkier, Treesje, BE, Ignes, etc)-- who do I need to know about?

Hi Sacchrine! The two best websites that I can recommend are Chacodog and Skystonetrading. I have ordered from both multiple times. Both are based in NM and have years worth of experience. They carry promenent artists (work pictured in my photo) such as Albert Jake, Guy Hoskie, Darrel Cadman, Aaron Todlena, E.S. 'Eugene' Mitchell, Andy Cadman and Gary Reeves. Reputable dealers will be able to tell you who made the piece, what mine the stones come from, and in some cases who cut the stones (lapidary). All of this, plus the value of raw materials is factored into the price. (Skystone offers ring sizing, and I have used this service w/ success).

If you make it out to NM, be sure to visit Ortega's on the Plaza. Expensive, yes, but knowlegeable and extensive. Get on their mailing list for invites to their parties during Indian Market. You can also visit the Navajo Nation (and pueblos for their jewelry).
