Default Insomnia hits so I logged on to post here
Insomnia hits so I wanted put down a few thoughts and random ramblings.

Chodessa: I went back and read through the entire thread. Thank you for starting this thread. I kinda get lost wandering around the PF. Still learning rule and where things are and where to post things. But I don't want to give up so I'll keep reading and learning through trial and error.

DC, Mlinky and India: Thanks so much for keeping me in check without making me feel like a total idjit. Also for your support and your welcome.

All the rest of you guys on this thread and whom I've met the past few weeks, it's hard to explain how I feel about the PF because I rarely if ever venture into places like this, and believe it or not, I'm a relatively private person when it comes to things so while I'm still not 100% sure what guided me here, it's a wonderful, safe place to share with likeminded people from all over whom I never otherwise would have met.

To be honest, although my DH would never prevent me from buying anything I want, and although it seems like I went a little nutsoid during the sample sale, I actually have never spent more than $100 for a "new" handbag. I was so used to thrifting, shopping vintage and hitting Century 21 that although I drooled over other designers (not sure if I can mention who but I see from wishlists and photos on non HH purchases that you are all familiar with the ones I covet) that when I looked at the actual prices I almost fainted.

With three kids ages 18, 20, 25. two in college and one in graduate school, no student loans, expenses etc. etc. etc...nuff said? But I wouldn't trade them in although I do have my moments.

This morning, I finished glazing the soffit in my bedroom. Going for the feel of living inside a burnished suede Italian jewelry box. Walls glazed in two transparent shades of umber and deep yam, soffit is glazed in bronze and copper with a dappeling of old gold. (I am also dappled in old gold btw but it goes well with my red hair).

Glad I had insomnia because I just got texted by my DD (25) that her ride home from a party is plastered and so I have to pick her up. Glad she's responsible.

I look forward to hearing, caring and sharing.

Hello everyone! I’m a newish HHHottie. I’ve been lurking in this subforum for awhile but never really said anything until a few weeks ago. Anyway, I’m lulu. I’m a 27 year old translator from Minnesota (mini snow dah). I do have a Minnesotan accent. LOL! The company I work for is based in Italy so I split my time between here (mn) and Arola, Italy (60 km north of Milan). I’ve been married for 3 years but been together with my hubby for almost 10 years. (yes, the math shows we are high school sweethearts) We have 2 dogs and 1 cat and no children. TMI: I have narcolepsy with severe cataplexy (which means: I suddenly feel weak and collapse at moments of strong emotion such as laughter, anger, fear or surprise) Which is why I mostly work from home and have no children. We live in a small Swiss chalet looking home in MN which is kinda run down. We are slowly fixing it up to it’s former glory. Which is fun for both of us because we love DIY projects. In the process of this remodel. I sold almost half of my handbag collection on ebay. For several months we had to keep all of our closet items in storage bins because we had no closets. I still have a pretty big collection mostly Tous, Dooney, and Kooba, and a couple HH. I have most of my collection posted on TPF for your viewing pleasure. In person I’m really quiet, and shy. I’m really an active person. I ice climb, fence (saber), I dabble in painting, and I run NA meetings for local teens. That pretty much sums me up. I look forward to meeting all you HHHotties and ogling all your handbags. and thank you all for your warm welcomes

Welcome, lulu - As you can tell I'm from St. Paul. We'll have to meet up at the MOA some time! But now only after the holidays - as you probably know the MOA is NUTS between Thanksgiving and New Year's ... Minnetonka is a pretty nice little city - depending on where you live, you're either very well-to-do or just a regular person, and that's one of the things I like about Minnetonka - no matter who you are, it seems folks are really nice!

Welcome Lulu. I love your accent! I can hear it!!! Wow it's too bad this thread isn't in the HH sub-forum. Posts can get lost. It I didn't subscribe to this thread I wouldn't know what was going on.

Heck yeah we will have to meet at MOA sometime defiantly after the holiday season. I won't even go close to MOA around this time. drivers are just too insane. I wish I was well-to-do like like the rest of the ppl on my block. I live in a sub-city of minnetonka called Glen Lake. Everyone is very nice here. It's kinda like living in a small town in a big city.
Is there a place in MOA that sells HH? I've been buying all mine at Von Maur in eden prairie.

LOL...
I am intrigued by your job as a translator! DH comes with you to Italy?
Also about your narcolepsy, thanks for sharing that with us... I'm a pharmacist and always pay special attention when someone mentions an ailment...
And most of all, I think you are amazing and I thank you for running NA meetings.. that speaks volumes to me about what a great person you really are!!
So happy you have joined us!!

LOL I feel the same way too.... Everyone is like "that's so sweet, blah, blah, blah" I'm like it is what it is. I'm just thankful I don't have to date anymore. If I were thrust into the dating world I would have no idea what to do... LOL
Running NA meetings is a way for me to right some wrongs I've done in my life and help teens that are in a similar situation as I was. I was self medicating with "uppers" In high school because I was embarrassed about having narcolepsy. I find that most teens are also self medicating and they end up getting hooked. I went to school for sex and drug health and behavior a fancy phrase for counselor.
The translator job just kinda fell into my lap. I was working for a adventure travel company in Gurnigelbadd, Switzerland as a ice climbing instructor/ insurance checker. I've always had a "gift" as my mom would call it for languages. When the travel company went out of business.. I took a job with one of the insurance companies I risk checked with. Two companies offered me jobs as a translator. Languages are a hot commodity in Europe. I speak fluently 3 languages and can get by on 12 or so more and I'm working on 2 languages right now. Thank "up there" for Rosetta stone!!
My husband almost never comes with me to Italy. He hates it there. I took him on a weekend in Venice. He hated it. "it smells bad, rats and dogs everywhere it's hard to find this place romantic"

WOW, I'm super chatty today

No, not at MOA. Von Maur? Eden Prairie? Damn it! I didn't know there was a VM in EP!!! We might have to meet there! What HH bags have you seen there? I can't believe this - live in a place for 16 years and not know something like that - I thought Von Maur stores were only in IA!!!

Heck Yeah, In EP Mall there is a VM. They have a whole display case full of gorgeous HH handbags and wallets. Tis where I go to drool. LOL they got everything there.. HH, Kooba, Junior Drake, Coach, Dooney, 49 sq mi, Marc Jacobs, Foley & Corrina. My brain gets overloaded everytime I shop there, so much to choose from. We will definatly have to meet there sometime.
