So I'm giving in to the rain that will not leave NY and am now pondering my options for a chic umbrella.. I have always used freebie umbrellas from my job and/or car companies..
No lecture on not buying the HH umbrella when I could have, cuz obviously I SHOULD HAVE.. LOL..
Anyone have any thoughts/advice on these PVC umbrellas? I like the mod/60's feel.. Are they durable?

ITA..blammy...(I hope all is well)..talk about magical thinking..I wonder if I made this downpour happen...me and everyone else who hates Father's Day..if so..I will try to use my powers for good and not evil.

Retro..mod..so you..cho..go for it...and this way everyone will see your gorgeous "punim" chica..

me..I'm thinking I need a burka..or chodor..or complete hijab..or one of these beauties because I am not feeling lovely...more like the little guy in the last photo..but not as happy as he is in his natural habitat..although I do feel the need to preen...or maybe I need to grow gills..crikey....this is getting positively absurd.

BlamBlam!! Gingey!! Thanks for the help!!!! I cannot resist your advice, so a rainkist clear umbrella (no trim like the one listed above) is now mine!!
Hope I can somehow find joy carrying it while it continues to rain on my parade.....

Join the crowd. I was wondering what was bugging you today -.

I lost my dad last July but we weren't that close. I'm still angry at him for giving up. Damn it.

Gingeybear, Don't be too hard on yourself. Everyone gets down once in a while. I tend to not like some of the holidays too. My family is not very close, or should I say, I am not really close with my family. My boyfriends family is like the Brady bunch. They are the perfect family. It gets hard spending time with them sometimes because I think I get jealous. Last christmas we were all together and they were playing games and I had to run to the bathroom cuz I was starting to cry. It is hard sometimes seeing everyone so happy when you are not. Know that you have us to talk to. WE LOVE YOU HERE!

OK sistahs...I survived yesterday. Thank you all for being there for me..((hug)). I'm not sure why some Father's Days are worse than others for me. So be it.

Today.right blammy..new day...Costco and Stop n Shop..laundry..linen changing..laundry...cooking...one last paper to submit..and hopefully I can get in some excercise and reading too..productive things and self indulgence..I can't seem to self indulge without first doing something productive as if to justify my down time..thanks Mom..LOL...or should I look at it as balancing? Sounds better.IS better...right....thanks for helping me see that too, amigas..LOL.

SkyDive..OMG I realize that I'm an egg trying to be coffee..((hug))..I need to be less "hardboiled" and more "aromatic"..I don't like myself the way I was yesterday at all..that's the evil me coming out..not nice..but I'm over it.

It is a different day..probably raining...again..but at this point I think I am resigned to it..LOL

I need my morning coffee badly..or a diet coke...I think my brain is becoming moldy...but boy does my garden look lush..except I'm worried that my tropicals will rot..ugh.

OMG Cho, It was really fun and fascinating. It rained the entire time we were camping including lunchtime on the work day EXCEPT for the 4 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the afternoon that we worked Saturday! So we got a little lucky.

And we were on a wildlife refuge (Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge) and I thought we'd see tons of animals, but for the first two days all I saw was a bunny that got run over. I was a little disappointed. I thought that when we got out to the fence that there would be a bunch of antelope standing there waiting for us to move the fence for them, LOL. But it wasn't like that at all.

When we left Sunday morning we drove dirt roads all the way back home which took 9 hours and we did see some animals. We saw a bunch of mule deer, three pronghorn antelope, one wild horse by the antelope, then a bunch of wild horses later. We also saw a bunch of jackrabbits and field mice and a coyote. Oh, and one dumb ass LOL. I mean donkey.

The fence part was cool. It was barbed wire fence we had to take down, and my job was to work with the Unimog drive (that is like a big truck with a wire spool machine on the front. So I basically helped coil up the barbed wire with a machine.

BTW, I totally love your umbrella!!! That is HHHOT! I need one too if it keeps raining here in Raino I mean Reno. I'm glad we're getting rain, but Im starting to need a snorkel!

I'm really close to finishing my labor of love. I've uploaded all the lookbooks into my photobucket account and I'm ready to post them on the forum. I have all the looksbooks from fall 2006-fall 2009. I'm still looking for Spring 2006. I'm thinking of making a thread called
Reference: Master Lookbook Thread *no chatting*

What do you think? Is it worth posting? Is the name appropriate?

Absolutely! Well done, Lulu!! (BTW saw some really cool long, beachy dresses--some halter style, some strapless with ruching) in L/XL at Old Navy of all places yesterday... the XL looked like a good 12/14...
