RMC - between Nov and June it would be tough to find a day that wasn't rainy! I have carried leather bags (finished leather with a bit of a glaze and that have been sprayed for protection) in the rain. We don't usually get torrential downpours, just a slow steady drizzle.
It's good to know that the sonia zips in the middle so....I'll keep it on my maybe list. I wonder how well the new trophy satchel and bibilo will be as possible work bags? I see you have them on your list

*meekly*....I personally like the nylon bedford messenger for a work bag. But I am still torn as to whether I'll really be going back this semester and for many reasons I suspect not....but if you like a "practical" bag, the bedford is really nice and easy to carry...

My new black patent Corcovado arrived today, and I can tell it's going to be a great work bag! A bit narrow at the zip when the side snap things are closed, but it's a great size for work stuff and will definitely fit files and all that. And the patent is just the thing in this rainy weather.
Thumbs up for the Corc as a work bag! |

Yay!! And Stormy, Minnifer, and I have been discussing cleaning the patents... at some point it might/will get a bit tacky from sweat/mist/humidity/gunk. Stormy recommends regularly dusting the bag (KP or Black) off (she might be recommending this for ALL bags, actually) before you pack it away. If/when the Corc gets "tacky" (it'll start sticking to your arm and squeaking) she recommends a gentle, light soap and water cleaning (not getting it too wet) and then a soft buffing. You can also use Lexol soap, which is ph balanced.

Bump!
I thought this thread deserved a thread revival. Allot of us have been discussing work totes and some of the newer bags haven't really been discussed yet... |

Thanks Lulu!!!
What do you think is the best work bag option from the new crop? Now that I heard how big the biblio is going to be (and maybe in OLIVE!!!) I'm getting tempted. |

Oops, Sally, I stand corrected. Biblio's not as big as I remember (found the stats).

Yeah I thought it was a similar measurement to your first one... 19x14x6 (which is what I thought) but It's still huge according to the second measurements...18"L x 10"H x 6"
Do you think it might be too slouchy to hold files like the Tamasin.. Which I think would make a great north south work tote if it's just files and not a laptop |

Biblio is still pretty big - but maybe not square enough for files?? Or too slouchy?
I read so much about defects to the Tamasin rivets that I shied away from it. Also I don't think I ever saw pics of a laptop or files in a Tamasin. I'll have to go search. |

Sam, fear not, Sonias turn up at bonanzle and ebay pretty regularly! Worth the wait, too.

Okay - I'm still struggling with this issue of a great work bag. Don't think any of the new crop of HH's really qualify as a great work bag that can carry files, lunch, a water bottle and the regular purse stuff. I want something that has a structure that distributes the weight a bit and/or a strap that is comfy even when carrying a load of stuff. Has to be a shoulder strap with a decent drop - 10" plus.
Don't want a briefcase thing - I'd love something stylish. Maybe HH doesn't have bag like this. If I was going to turn to other brands where would I look for ideas. I tried searching the main forum for work bags but don't seem to be finding what I want. Any thoughts??? |

What about the kooba sydney or blake..
I've used the blake as a work tote. It's holds files nicely Here is a link to the sydney it has a 12" strap drop http://shop.kooba.com/Sydney/pd/np/138/p/96528.html or the Kooba alex http://shop.kooba.com/Alex/pd/c/117/np/117/p/96503.html |

or what about dooney.. I know allot of people don't like dooney but I still do.. They make fantastic work bags..
Here are a few that work well http://www.dooney.com/OA_HTML/ibeCCt...?section=44858 http://cgi.ebay.com/DOONEY-BOURKE-BR...d=p3286.c0.m14 http://cgi.ebay.com/Dooney-Bourke-Re...d=p3286.c0.m14 Alto leathers are the best of the dooneys.. They are sturdy and hold up over time... and they don't have annoying look at me patterns on them LOL |
