Jenn - Thanks - will take another look. And of course, even my bitching and moaning about the hobos now doesn't mean I won't wind up with one (or two or three) in my closet come fall

It is darker than the older HH color "saddle" also - and not as yellowey as the saddle brown. From the bags I've seen IRL, I would say the browns run: Yam - an orangey brown (more toward the orange) Saddle - a yellowey camel tan Brandy - a red-based brown Cordovan - a medium walnut brown Chocolate - a dark brown (with just a hint of blue to cool it) I haven't owned any of the HH "luggage" color - or the "cocoa" to know how those compare. I would say Fall's cognac is darker than the booze color and lighter than the color called "tobacco" in other handbag lines. I will have to do the gingeybear thing and go match it with my box of crayons. |

^^^ It helps to think of them as woods, for me (having spent WAY too much time in Room & Board, LOL). That explains why I like the Cordovan so much better than the Brandy... I'm a walnut girl all the way! But I also like the orange hues of the Yam... not sure if Cognac will be for me, but I appreciate the 40s luggage nod.

Oh, the 1940's luggage color sounds perfectly lovely. Too bad the Biblio isn't coming in cognac.

Now the site is down - hopefully that means they're posting tons of new things! I hope they do a Pre-season sale -- even with 20% I'd order a couple of the things I want for sure!

Interesting -- I agree with the Coach similarities, at least for the turnlock bags. Definitely cleaned-up, pared down and more "classic" than the HH we know. More of what I think of as an "uptown" look. I am holding out for a Biblio and hoping it will be available in grape or cognac since I have black HH bags that I love.

They're not calling it Yam Shine, but it does look a tad darker to me, and we already have the Biblio tags as samples... and Gingey's Lorca.
Hmmm Yam as cherry wood? (My second favorite after walnut :) |

Just went back and looked at the Yam wallets again, and there's a definite shine to it; can't fake that even in a bad photo. So I'd say it's finished leather rather than the nekkid yam of old.

LOL, nikki!
So, I asked on another thread, but can anyone tell me how long the Yoko dress is? Is it more of a tunic length (mid-thigh), or will it be knee-length on me (I'm 5'3")? |
