This is the thing I don't like about Bonanzle. With eBay, when you process a purchase at price, it is considered a transaction. With Bonanzle, you can click and process and it can go into what is like a "Chinese Silent Auction" or a blind auction, i.e. the seller can still go with another buyer if they come in higher than the "price and terms" offer. Which is why you can see low prices, get excited and click only to find there were a half-dozen offers and the seller decided on another buyer.

In eBay land a set BIN is the top listing price. You can send a message offering less. With Bonanzle, it is the opposite, especially with those that say $x "OR BEST OFFER". It doesn't mean whichever offer comes closest to that price, it means whichever offer goes way above that price. It's a yucky system.

Awesome Syb! That listing was only visible for a few minutes at best cuz I've been checking new listing on bon & ebay all day. I would love to get the tharpe but nows not a good time to spend $275. I was tempted to ask her to hold til next week but didn't bother. The only other bag is a Big Beatrice in the new design or the red floral or the yellow floral.

I didn't know that!!!! You're right, that stinks!! For the buyer anyway. Thanks for the information, I haven't bought much of anything on Bonanzle but I'll be more prepared now.

I'm not super experienced with Bonanzle, but the last two things I've bought have had the OBO option and the sellers accepted my lower-than-list offers on both, so maybe it just depends? But good to know people will OBO above at any rate...

Eye Heart, are these the Beas you have? I saw the red harlequin on eBay. Did you buy it? I think my red harlequin is my favorite year round Beatrice. My newest addtion is a green floral with white leather Beatrice and I am enjoying her during the summer months. Here is a family pic. I have not updated it yet with the green floral...

P.S. Eye Heart, I have been looking for the autumn leaves Bea and the all-leather Beas. They are rare. Good to have a fellow Beatrice fan.

I would love to have one of the smaller all-leather Beas.

Harlequin beatrice..Red Tango...but I believe this seller bought it from someone else (another trusted and loved HH Hawtie) and she may not be the original owner if I remember the bag's trajectory..just a head's up.

Just for the record. I just started on the B. I treat it like I would on the bay. Once I say "it's yours"..that's it..even if I did get a better bid..or one above asking. That's just how I operate. I am upset to hear that it is not the same for others.

Unlucky so far in my quest to covet a lovely Bea But I will eventually. The Harlequin didn't sell & relisted for $289ish obo & I think she listed on bonanzle too. The floral one you have is for sale in one place I know of but not a trusted seller AT ALL! tranquilityalley has it but I wouldn't buy online for almost any amount of money. If I lived in Chicago I'd pick it up in person. I live way too far. Any body wanna go get it in chicago for me?

I sell on bonanzle all the time. It's not comman practice. Didn't even know of this. You should email Tom Dorsey @ bonanzle or someone should.

Interesting. Even on ecrater, the item shows as "reserved" if someone pays for it... too bad that's not the case on Bonanzle. This was my first time buying something on B.

To be fair, I didn't do OBO, I bought and paid for it at the seller's orig asking price. So I think I can assume that no one else offered more than asking for it. I'm okay assuming that someone really did buy the bag moments before I clicked "Buy".
