If one of us wants something bad enough, we'll pay the price. No worries, I wouldn't think, about stepping on toes. How could we warn anybody off something we wanted? Murphy's Law would indicate that a non-tPF person would swoop in at the last minute and win the day, and all of our careful 'don't step on toes' is for naught.

Yeah, ebay, as a buyer or seller is certainly a slippery slope.

"I don't see how one can 'snipe maliciously' - since most of our e-Bay IDs are not the same as our tPF IDs (and since e-Bay hides them now anyway) - I don't get this comment ... "

II...my intention was to convey that it's too bad that sniping has unintentional consequences that one TPFer gets something that another was bidding on.

It's tough to lose something for a dollar or two but that's how a bottom line creeps up on my spending limit if I'm not careful. So I bid my max when I put in my last minute bid and then I have to keep saying cest la vie if I lose for a small amount. I can't own everything I lust after can I?

"GB - moving on to BE, are you? Stop by when you get a chance, but we do understand. I was an RM gal at one point - and briefly a Mulberry gal.

Not moving on..LOL...just adding one or two. I have a serious passion for handbag and accessories. But as far as price point and design, especially during a sale, HH is at the top of my list.

Although today.... I finally caved thanks to all the enablers on this thread. Thanks for posting all those amazing discount codes and sites. I wound up getting a F & C Jet Set Jr. in Sea Blue for $215 less 25% and the Classic City Tote in Glitter for $170 less 25% both for the summer and sharing with DDs.

Those Fryes are to die for all of you lucky HHHs who scored. I wish I could buy shoes and boots online but it just can't happen because I need to try everything on even if I already own another pair in the same style.

One of those misunderstandings about Ebay auctions. When you lose by a small amount, it doesn't necessarily mean that the winner bid only that much more than you did. They may, in fact, have set their bid limit quite a bit higher. Time to stop kicking yourself. Your limit is what it is.

Thanks for letting me win.

It was never a matter of who was and it never came down to

Not kicking myself at all. I figured either I would be lucky or someone would have submitted a higher bid and that would be that. Set it and forget it really is my credo. I was just glad to see that someone from this forum got it..

Mi amiga..I didn't let you win at all....you won it fair and square.

Hey gals,

Saw two or three Grey Zeus Lorcas on the bay. Is this color not working for a lot of people?

karmenZ, it works for me - only because I *know* how lovely black Zeus is. I can't wait to receive my grey Zeus Lorca - which should be waiting for me when I get home today. I have NEVER seen anything like this 'Zeus' leather HH is using ... I am enamored. I didn't buy it on e-Bay, either, but directly from HH.

Syb and leo, congrats on the beautiful Anas. I'm so glad you got them! LOL, I was bidding on all sorts of Anas, but I ended up off-line for longer than I expected and didn't set up my sniper. And toni...you nabbed a saddle Ana!!! My FAVORITE bag in the whole universe! I hope you love her as much as I do.

thanKZ, india
It does look pretty photo-wise
Seeing a few of them on the bay at once
made me wonder, especially when they're
sold for pennies.

karmen, if they are using stock photos, they may be hoping to sell higher than they can buy at the sale. In other words, they're selling stuff that they don't have. I've had to file NPS on more than one seller in situations where the photos were stock, and the price was unbelievable.

Oh, no, no stock photos. I don't pay any attention to listings for which the sellers provide only stock photos. That's a no-no for me.

I think that Ipanema on the bay would sell if the seller put a BIN on it.
I wish I used clutches. I love how glossy it is!

Isn't that like short selling on the stock market? And...look what happened to people who did that in 1929?

BTW. I am not too familiar with the HH line because I'm a newbie. Modeling pics on this thread really help because these are real people not starving 14 year old child aliens from another planet.

If I don't know what the HH bag looks like IRL it's hard for me to tell. I want to see "the real thing" when I bid on something. That's why I'm learning how to upload pics. I haven't sold on evilbay in years so I didn't even try to learn. I especially like IRL pics when the seller shows a person wearing it and gives vital statistics. Makes it easier to see if it would be a good fit for me. Better than on chairs, doorknobs or sitting on couches.

The Ana bag really threw me because I couldn't tell what the 3d shape was on a person or if it was big or small, what it held etc. Please someone model it if it hasn't been already. Thanks.
