what the heck? I know eyeheartbags posted about how the blush lorca was available for BIN but then the BIN disappeared after someone placed a bid... The same thing happened to my listing! I had a BIN available and now it's only showing it as available for bidding! Did ebay change their rules or something? I've never had this happen before.
Anyway, just wanted to post that in case anyone was worried that sellers are taking off the BIN option on purpose, I now see that it's not always the case.

I don't understand it. Sometimes it stays there after a few bids have been made but I just had an item with a BIN of $600 and starting bid of $1.00 so....a one dollar bid was made and the BID went away for $1.00!

Here's what the site says about it. It is confusing.

Buy It Now gives you the chance to purchase an item immediately, before bidding begins. But you have to act fast. Once someone bids, the Buy It Now option disappears. The listing then proceeds as a regular auction-style listing, with the item going to the highest bidder.

Special situations

In a listing with a Reserve Price, Buy It Now disappears as soon as the reserve price has been met.

In a few categories, the Buy It Now option may continue to be available after the first bid, but only for a limited time. Learn more.

^^^That is dumb. I think the BIN should stay up as long as the seller wants. Ebay is so expensive and with all the fees you should have more control over your own listing instead of them deciding everything for you.

This BIN thing must be new. Well I think it used to work the way it does now, but for a while the BIN stayed active stayed until the bid reached 1/2 of the BIN price. (As far as I know)

Well, that explains why sometimes it stays on while there are bids but it really is a gip for sellers to pay for the BIN only to disappear in some categories after the first bid. Thanks for the info, I appreciate it!
