It means that someone (in cahoots with the seller) is bidding it up so that the price goes higher. Makes me suspicious to see that many bids on an item AND the seller only has 2 feedback.

Nevermind, I just noticed that the bidders are all established ebayers with over 100 feedback.

The bidding pattern I actually find very odd GIVEN the bidders' experience -- high frequency, very small bidding increments back and forth. For ex, I think many of us ebay junkies rely on sniping or last minute bidding, rather than this pattern.

I admit, I'm usually a sniper. I generally put in one bid, get a feel for what else is going on, then select a snipe price.

FYI - HH is having another sale - check out their sale page. I just snagged a gray zeus Lorca for cheaper than what's on e-Bay right now.

And yes, I took my Marcel off e-Bay - what in the hell was I thinking to let him go? He's MINE, MINE I tell you!!!!
