Now at four sold. Looks like it will make it. I'm actually glad HH will have this as a test market. I think it is wise for them to try the Groupons as "new customers only". They will be able to learn how strong their brand recognitin is is various cities (without the results buried in the intense buying of their established customers). If they only sell a few in a city, they will know that area of the country needs more work to get their brand out there. And, by comparison with previous Groupon days when they sold in the hundreds, they may be reminded how important their loyal customer base is to their brand.

Very insightful. Good points, well made!

I don't understand this groupon - I just became a member after that last HH sale.

So if the deal is issued to Miami, can I buy the groupons under my husbands name and then have him buy me my bag?

I have been wanting a Havana for so long and it mentions that you can use two if the item is over 475.

Anybody know?

It would make sense to me - especially since more than one person in a household (roommates in an apartment, college roomies, husbands/wives/kids) may want to all be able to purchase separately, and are all individuals.

But, I'm unclear on what HH means by 'new customer.' If they actually decide to limit it to 1 per address, I think they'd be making a mistake. Roommates would be unable to both have accounts, and husbands couldn't buy surprise gifts!

I would think that it would be fine to have your husband sign up and process the groupon that way.

What do they mean by new customers? Someone who has never ordered from HH or someone who has never bought a groupon? I'm still confused because of the 'multiple as gifts for other new customers' provision. That seems to imply people who have never bought from HH before, not necessarily groupons? Is anyone else confused? Not that I'm buying another one. I looked back and I have blown through 8 of them already and now I have two more remaining and that is MORE than enough for one person - scary!

Really, all I see is "4 sold" and it tipped at 5, so I'm guessing someone cancelled.

I'm confused too but I gave up trying to figure it out since whatever it means leaves me out. I have two Groupons left, sort of saving them for something newer than SS 09 or what we've already seen on the site.

And since when is "Miami, the Williamsburg of Florida"????????? I lived there for a long time and still have family there and have never heard that before!
Heh. That Williamsburg description is a NYC reference. Williamsburg is a newly gentrified area in Brooklyn - used to be old factories and warehouses, very blue collar. Now, there are lofts and trust-fund babies.

I've never been to Miami but, I think the description is quite the stretch!

I agree. At least they're upfront about it. Well, kinda. I think we're all confused. What does new customer mean, exactly?

Even though I've bought a Groupon before, does that mean I can buy more to gift to others? Sounds like it.

I understand the restriction. As RealMcCoy said, they want to build brand exposure in new markets. They're looking for new customers.

I have to admit that the Groupon was a big incentive for me to try the brand. But, unfortunately, my first experience with the brand has been frustrating (Spooky Sale.) I hope the next sales are better.

sounds like another company I dislike...."screw the current customers, they don't need to be happy, let's just stroke new ones!"
