Heeeeyyyyy Stormaaaaayyy!!!

I searched the thread about lambie leathers, but I wanted to know if you have any experience w the new Cargo Cult collection leathers.

I have a grey on the way, so I should condition and TLC spray right out of the box?

Does the black need any special love?

I noticed right away that the potential for scuffs/scratches is huge w this leather. Is there anything I can apply to make this less-so? (bc I'm a huge giant klutz and don't forget the kidlets are usually in tow!)

I have learned so much about leather from you being with us here. Like everything I know. So thank you, thank you sooooo much! You've inspired me to be proactive and adventurous with my leather items, and I take care of them sooooo much better now that I have a little knowledge!

OH! While I'm mid-post: Do you think the old-school black-pebbly leather from circa '09 needs anything special? I have a black dekker that I love to sniff, smells sooo good, but I want it to last as long as possible. My black Maddies are holding up soooo well, after following your product advice (can't remember the name, the one that smells greeeaaat, made for firefighters and woodswomen!)!!!

Thank yooooouuu!!!

Hey my Sweetie !!

Lamb is very delicate with a surface that is prone to heavy scuffing and small tears. These are mainly unavoidable unless you are extremely careful but you can feel more relaxed if you'd -------

Yes, condition the heck out of it with your superduper weatherproofer and skip the spray. You'll be fine !

I would have advised you to forgo Lambskin entirely in favor of Cow, Deer or Goat because with the three boys, you need the strength.

** distressed (shrunken vegtan) lambs are entirely different, as I have described previously. They can withstand almost any abuse.

Go ahead and use your heavy conditioner on the OLDSKOOL leather. By now she can suck it up.

Ooooh, thank you!!!! (I must confess, I LOVE putting that stuff on anything! I've slathered it on so many leather items, it's in*sane. I half want to ditch the mile-long to-do list I have right now just to sit and play and rub! lollll! Ok, maybe I will, just a little... )

Just for clarification, though, you think the superduper stuff is ok for the GREY, too? Will it darken it or leave it spotty?

I hope your son and Mr. Stormy are well!

I don't think spotty would be a problem because you are an expert rubber but you'd surely get darkening so just use your spray protector on the grey.

If a hidden test shows an acceptable color deepening, hold off on the good stuff til next fall.

We are OK, thanks for asking. I'm glad things are going well with your family.

In my experience, LMB's products are overpriced and not that great. I like Stormy's recommendations.

How do you recommend adhering the zipper ties on the Corc? My KP's constantly undo themselves and I want to make sure they stay put.

The "patents" are slippery and won't hold the knot. I'd double it a secure with a little rivet. Alternately, you can secure it by sewing an X. Or take it off, wet it and retie it tightly and it will hold well once it dries.

Stormy, is there a way to clean the rough side of leather? Like the back sides of the Wyeth fringe? I have a leather backpack that is unfinished on the inside and something spilled on it. It doesn't show through the front but I hate the dark spot on the inside. I have lexol cleaner but I haven't tried using anything on it yet.

hi Stormy! I managed to scuff some of the patent finish off my new Candy Apple Tharpe in a small spot. :( Can I cover with Fiebings Sheen or clear acrylic?

Also do you still recommend Leather Magic to send a bag that needs deep cleaning + dyeing? I didn't manage to get it done the last time I sent it over.
