I think it's the same? I got both the non-aerosol and lotion from wilson's leather and it says TLC on it. The aerosol ones I got from the bay says just "Leather & Suede Protector" and not TLC, but looks the same to me as the non-aerosol word for word. Not much help, hope someone else can add on :P

Hi Stormy, I am so overwhelmed! I have searched back a few pages and am just confused. What exactly should I spray on my Eucalyptus and Moonbeam Havanas before I use them? I already used my Eucalyptus Havana and got some weird little spot of something on it.It was so weird. It must have been oil from my hand or something because all I did was grab it and set it down somewhere else and there it was

I am sorry you feel confused, Pearlized leathers, such as Moonbeam, like Metallics, lose shine with spray-ons. They have a delicate top layer that does not benefit from protectors or conditioners( including cleansers). To penetrate with additional chemicals only weakens the finish. You could set yourself up for problems down the road. A plain soap (NOT DETERGENT !) washing with damp cloth are all these can handle.

Eucalyptus is another story, and we have heard of color-changing on these babes. The grey has an underlying green tint and we have to respect the nature of this leather. It is sensitive to skin oils (do you use hand lotion? ) I am OK with Wilsons or Kiwi Spray to give some protection on Eucalyptus. Just go easy. Try rubbing with corn starch or sidewalk chalk to absorb the oil spot.

* In future, don't just go back a few pages but do a whole thread search ~ it may help you out more.

Thanks Stormy! You are a leather artist and leather expert! I think when I got the spot on my bag I was going through this therapeutic grade oil phase,so some of that might have been transferred from me to the bag.I love some of these light colored bags, but I don't think they are wise for me to keep getting.

Hi Stormy! ...So the tie died green zeldas...what would you recommend for the areas I "cleaned" off? The finish is basically worn off in those areas. It's not horribly noticeable, but I'd like to even it out as much as possible. Should I find a shoe polish that matches closely or would the unfinished areas need something more/other than that? Thank you for any help you can offer!!

Your best bet is Meltonian cream polish. It comes in many colors, and you can blend them to get an exact match. Leave it on long enough to 'set" a little before buffing and use as many thin coats as you need. Do not be tempted to paint with a leather dye, it will destroy your Zs.
You're on the right track. Would you post pictures so we can see what you are starting with ? This will be a lesson in Eucalyptus...
I am completely baffled as to the actual cause of this unstable dye lot, so my reverse-engineering skills are being tested. I would caution against pH imbalances for sure, so once Z is looking good, mild and gentle is the key, Would you say the color-change was progressive or the same since they arrived ? You might need to try to stabilize it somehow if the green becomes more prominent. At any rate, let's see how color creme works out. 173 with pinch of 126 is probably where I'd start.

Thanks so much Stormy. I had my eye on these creams and am really happy to hear that they would be your suggestion--the array of colors is great and they don't seem too intimidating.

I would say the color is stable. There hasn't been any change since I received them. In my case, the reason I think they appeared to change initially was because I opened the box in the AM in natural light and then really inspected them at night. The green tinge is much more noticeable under incandescent light.

Here are some pics. I had some trouble getting the spots to show well so I upped the contrast in the last pic. The worn areas are more noticeable than they appear in the first two pics but not as noticeable as the last.

Thank you again! I'll order the two colors you suggested and keep everyone updated w/ the progress/results.

I have a question abour my black Mosaique hobo. I found a used one online and received it today. However, the yam and ruby leather on the bag has picked up some dirt and color transfer from the canvas and black leather. Can you recommend a gentle cleaner to help restore the colors? Thank you.

I'd work each leather panel separately with Lexol Cleanser and follow up with Lexol Conditioner. Woolite foam for the canvas if needed (being careful not to touch the leather) Blot dry with clean cloths and allow air time about 72 hrs. Spray the whole bag with Protect-All carefully (two light coats) afterward to keep future transference to a minimum... It sounds like a lot of steps but is worthwhile.

Thank you so much, Stormy for the recommendation. The bag was represented as used, but in good condition. It was dirty inside and out (even had their old cc receipts). I have been airing it out in the breeze. Any-who...I am committed to saving my Mosaique with some TLC.

Stormy, I wanted to add my thanks to you for your current "master list" project. It would be tremendously helpful... perhaps then with a corresponding description of each type of leather and basic care. If there's anything we can do to help (collect photos in natural light of the leathers we have?) please let us know.

And just to test my scattered knowledge... the leathers I have (or had) in HH are:

The basic Black and the original (Elephant) Grey (both full-grain?)

Yam, Tango Red, Ginger, Lagoon, and Eucalyptus (all Nudies?)
Also have the Pumpkin and Anthracite in LP's Dylan series...
Q: Are "Nudes" and "Washed" and "Garment-Dyed" the same thing? Or am I confused because the "Mercer Washed" series used "Nude" leathers but the "Washed" makes me think of the Dylan Leathers?

TCP and ICP (fantastic patents that crinkle and age but seem impervious to dirt and rain)

Lead (coated metallic?) and Steel (seems like a metallic coating over suede for some reason)

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that my eucalyptus maddies held up amazingly well in some serious rain after being sprays 3x with Wilson's TLC aerosol. There are no spots, changes in texture, or color shifts going on. Spray away! :)

Thanks, Paelaf! Good to know... My Euc Havana arrives next week but I'll keep it in its bag until I can hit the outlet Wilson's store again (am out of TLC spray). It'll probably be my lightest bag, so I want to be safe.

Hi Stormy!

New here and can't stop buying HH. Love, love, love!! Anyway, got a Suki in Saddle in excellent condition. The previous owner never treated her (I don't think she even used her). This leather seems so delicate and I am pretty hard on things. What can this beauty handle? Can I use a protector on her? No stains yet, but if and when, what do I use?

Btw, I live in Arizona...can you say dry heat? What do you recommend to keep my black Nicco, Zelda's in Brandy and Lorca in Goldrush gorgeous?

Thanks so much for any help!
