OK so Carlie & Jenni confirmed my expectations on the CP wear & peeling, so the plot thickens.
Jenni as far as level of shine, ~ a topcoat can have a very high shine, but is visually and tactilely different from what I call iron on saran wrap (laminate). Topcoats require a better base color to achieve that lively depth we love. A laminate gets its depth from the layered physical dimension, which may be why ben calls it 'gloss' ~ he must think chicks relate to lipgloss, who knows what men think...
I try so hard to get hh to use proper terminology but they all insist on kindergarden phraseology and silly marketing labels for leather finishes.
I literally beg them to be precise so I can tell it as it REALLY is in the Care thread. I am a PITA for sure, and last week was petitioning for Carlie and the Sour Grapes. Well hey, they refuse swatches, what else can I do ? I'd love to have the low down up front and I can tell exactly how a bag will wear from a swatch. Ah, naked leather rules ~ what you see is what you get!
Yes I agree with Syb among several hotties across the forum, about many ongoing hh issues which deserve truth.
Sometimes it's better to let a comment that upsets us pass. We are not all debaters. With so many ages and stages represented, our unique life experiences give us ALL VALID reference points. I'm still trying to be OK with what I perceived as a lightly veiled racist comment but believe reaction could exaggerate an issue. oooooOOOOOooooohhhhhhhhHHhhmmmmmMMMMMMmmm

Bless you Stormy for being so open hearted.. Wish I could be that way..

Jenni I also wanted to compliment you, you always have a wonderful way with words.. and you gently deflect and *try* to guide us on the path the threads should take..

Thanks, Cho, but I'm probably one of the worst for taking things OT (and have been chastised plenty of times LOL).

And Stormy, you are right that sometimes it's better to let a comment slide, but I also think there are times it's necessary to say "hey, now!" A racist comment, veiled or not, would be one of those times I'd go the mat, although I realize that while you can draw attention to racism, you'll rarely if ever actually change racist views... your approach seems definitely better on the blood pressure! (ohm indeed!!... need to get back to my meditation practice... I can feel it physically when I fall out of the habit.)

Thanks for all your efforts on everyone's behalf, and especially Carlie's!!

I thought it was an interesting comment Stormy made about the samples should never have been sold. I haven't gone back to look but I think the prices weren't all that cheap and most of us would have expected to be purchasing an item at least approaching the quality we expect from HH; not something that would be peeling so quickly.

HH pictures and descriptions are inadequate at best as we all know, they need to figure out that is more important than they're admitting. There's too many of us with complaints about the basic business practices HH uses and we're the ones who are their biggest, or at least most vocal, fans.

Oh and Stormy, I completely meant to say THANK YOU so much for the info on the GS in the care thread, and also for petitioning for me and my poor Biblio. You're a sweetheart!!!

Yes, the sample prices were not much cheaper than the non sample would be. Also, you were not able to use the HHFALLTHANKS code with the samples, and that would have saved you another 15% at least. My mother has the yam shine TS, and I am interested to know if she has had any issues. As far as I know not yet. I should call her and ask...
