Default Anybody ever switch straps?
Hey, I'm about to put a Havana strap on my Wyeth tote because I don't like either of the choices....on the Wyeth - to short/too skinny/long! I'm a shoulder-bag type person so I photoshopped it and it looks great in theory.

Just wondering if anyone else has tried it IRL. Here is my photoshop pic.

I think it looks great. Do the original handles come off easily?

Now I see it.. I like it too.. I like it much better than the original as I don't really do crossbody.

WOW! dehlia..That looks amazing. When I went to the Greenpoint store..I pointed out how flimsy the straps were on the Athenas, the Wythe tote and hobos..totally out of proportion and quite useless IMHO...I wish I could do this with my Wyeth Hobo..perhaps you should send this to HH with a note..because this would really be a significant improvement. I can't wait to see what it looks like IRL!

Oh oh, sounds to me like HH needs to start selling straps separately. I think the Wyeth looks great with the Havana strap.

Funny, I was actually thinking of calling them to see if they would sell me just a strap!! Maybe I still have time as the Havana hasn't shipped yet - wouldn't that be great??

I know, the long skinny strap on the Wyeth just looks so odd. I'll def. post pics when this creation happens!

I wasn't into my wyeth straps at first, but after using them I've ended up liking them a lot. I think they do compliment the design and are really comfortable for crossbody wear. But if you aren't into crossbody I can see how it would bother you. It will be cool to see how this looks IRL!

Belen Echandia got it right on this one. I recently got a sweet deal on a Whisper To Me that came with interchangeable straps - shoulder (1 3/8" wide & padded) and cross-body (3/4" wide). Nice to have those options since a lot of women don't do cross-body, and the aesthetics are better.

[For the sake of comparison, the Havana strap is 1 1/2" wide.]

That looks soooo awesome! I can't wait to see pics. I think I would be more into the Tote if it had straps like that.

I tried X-body with this tote and it's just too big - maybe I'm particular (well, actually I KNOW I am very particular...)

This is the only bag I immediately fell in love with upon sight so I figure why not make into my perfect bag - my one concern is what am I going to to with a EUC. Havana bag with no strap??

Also, Wyeth owners: is this bag really heavy when filled? Thanks!

^^ well you probably won't be wearing them at the same time so it shouldn't be a problem Are you still waiting for your wyeth to arrive? I find that it doesn't actually hold very much and therefore doesn't get very heavy. When I put my laptop in there that's about all I feel it fits comfortably.

Dehlia - that looks fabulous - I love it when designers offer straps that come off and extra straps - if we all request them, I'll bet HH will offer them - that's how BE and RM came to offer the optional straps - customer requests and now with RM optional straps come with a lot of the bags too!
