Anyone have experience or an opinion on Black Bronze Wizard Snake? I'm eyeing the Bungalow wallet...

^^^ LOL, does sound scarey, BUT, I have learned to trust HH metallics. They never show up well on the website pictures, but they have all been gorgeous IRL.

Here we go, posting my question on the correct thread:
Stormy, the metallic indigo that they used on the Mercer 3C with black croc trim, and the Mercer clutch with the kimono print inset feels like silk. How did they pull that off? |

Metallics have never been my thing, but I love the purple one.

Patent Indigo Croco ! The most elegant combination HH ever made ! This is one of the metallics that have microscopic metal particles embedded in the colored finish. The reflective dust is finer than the metal/pearl bits seen in Pewter. The silkiness comes from both the fine grain lambskin and the technique used to apply the metallic finish employing heat and rollers (which essentially 'iron' it, resulting in extra smoothness) The Croc embossed patent is actually very dark navy blue, and is a true patent. Real patent leather smoothness and shine is achieved by putting the hides between heavy rollers under pressure (also adds a little stiffness). The embossed pattern is pressed in with rollers or stamps.. You can see why these leathers are very expensive to produce, and based on results, are worth the time, expertise, and expense. ~~ All this before we get to the amazing details on these bags ! Both these bags are HH Collector's items ~ do you have one ? |

^^^^Yes, I have one, and she is gorgeous! I kind of baby her and wear her only on special occassions. I really prefer to just admire her. My mom also sometimes borrows her for nights out.

That indigo metallic is out of this world! What I wouldn't give for a Pompidou in that leather...

Stormy (my apologies if this was asked and answered previously):
I think the BBWS (Black Bronze Wizard Snake?) feels like a metallic suede. Your thoughts? |

ND ~ I agree, and still wish I'd gone for the blue Pompi once upon that time.... the leather is the reason I keep M3C. |

^^ No visible underside. Nubuck - I think a good possibility. As soft as some HH leathers are, this feels even softer with a slight nap. Durability will be interesting to see although not that easy to test since I don't see it as a high use item (Tracey clutch). But I just realized - I should check the snag factor so that I don't find out the hard way.
Thanks SH! |
