NOT. Lead is on the far right, shown beside the more muted Pompidou to show the color and texture differences. The multiple pics illustrate how they look in sun and shaded. Go back~ notice how Lead reflects turquoise and gold. You have to hit + (magnify pic) and look closely; they are very different ~ Pewter is smooth vs Lead has a full grain texture. Violet is a whole 'nother kinda metallic leather. Pewter has a bronzey shadowing where the light doesn't strike it. (Anthracite seems to have charcoal undertones. Maybe I need some to compare...) Ink is the most amazing ! It flashes royal & cobalt but is basically quiet navy metallic. It's breathtaking, and the real (as opposed to heavily coated) patent is softy. I just wanted to show comparisons because full pics of all these bags are already posted on tPF.
Here is Nico's stock picture, as usual it doesn't do justice, but from a distance looks about right. It's a nice alternative to grey. If you have seen Colonial Pewter, that's exactly what it is. Some HH have become Collector's Editions.

OK, I just received my first metallic bag EVER today in the mail!

I was so jealous of everyone's Oyster bags, that I bought the Oyster Mercer Clutch and I simply adore it!
It is a lovely creamy beigy-white metallic. The perfect metallic for me!

OK ladies with the metallic HH's:
How do we treat this type of leather, or do we not treat it?
I have the Oyster Mercer Clutch, and used it hand-held by the center "handle" this entire week, and I am afraid it may become dicolored on the handle area if I continue to carry it like that over a period of time.

How do we protect this type of leather?
I have the Wilson's TLC Leather & Suede Protector Spray and the Wilson's Leather Lotion, and I treat all my leather bags with these, but this is my first metallic.

Please help!
Thanks!

HOLD on the usual stuff ! The Metallics can't take it. If you look at my Pewter Pompidou and Nico, you can see one has her shine and the other lost it. I treated Pompi and shouldn't have. (me & my experiments dammit). I did post about this and explained WHY metallic should be left alone. I knew better but pushed the envelope to test HH on a small item anyway.
Cooper, this may be a good chance to start a CARE of HH Sticky Thread.
Our unfinished (nakkies) need Wilsons, Metallics don't. Lambs can go either way, Vachetta already has a thread....

OH, wow!!!!
Thanks, M!

If it starts to discolor, can I just wipe it with a damp cloth with some mild soap?
(Maybe I should just find and read up on the thread you are talking about)
I am glad I asked here before I did anything!
Thanks!!!

Thank goodness you posted! Even though my oyster Mercer has a finish, I was thinking about spraying on the Wilsons.
