I wear one in Yam (if you look closely at the photo I posted you may see it) when I use my Conrad in Yam. I love the ones in nakie leather because they are so soft that they melt onto my wrist. I also have one in eggplant with black studs that I haven't worn yet. That's about all the studly arm accessories my senior citizen self can wear without looking like an over the hill, embarrassing-to-be with (I can hear my kids' muttering and see their faces )heavy metal fan.

gingeybear, you're giving all us close-to-50 gals a bad rep. You're as old as you act. I refuse to not wear the latest nail polish colors, the latest jewelry, whatever catches my eye or pleases me. If you keep on acting like you're too old at 54 to wear bracelets or dark nail polish you're going to be in your grave by the time you turn 60. Whoever/whatever has put into your head that you may be embarrassing to be with because of what you wear or dress like needs to be shot/taken to therapy, because it's just flat out wrong.
If that's the way you were raised, then there's not a lot to be done, but don't blame it on your children. Maybe they make faces at you for other reasons, not related to what you wear or what nail polish color or jewelry. Don't you remember 'I'm not too old to wear purple' and what about the Red Hat Society? Hayden-Harnett accessories are for ladies of all ages. |

This probably isn't the thread on which to post this..but I*I, nevertheless, I believe I have to set the record straight without malice or hard feelings on either side please. If I get booted off so be it.
heard....but I*I ....I can't seem to win here LOL..some of you say that mom's shouldn't rock turquoise or funky purses and now this..I*I I'm taking this in the generous spirit with which it was offered. I love my HH Ramone bracelets, and wear them proudly. I also wear blue polish on my toes because I don't care to wear it on my fingers ( I*I...I see you have been keeping track of my posts LOL!) Fedoras, mukluks you name it are part of my wardrobe as well. Please understand that I was not raised "that way" nor am I blaming things on my children. As far as whether maybe they make faces at me for other reasons...??????? A lot of my posts are meant to be humorous comments on life in HHville.., no more than that. I am a confident woman who is in charge of her life and I wear what I love as long as it looks good on me and I'm not trying too hard to look younger than I am or wind up with a headline "what was she thinking" in my local paper. I love classics with a twist, fun accessories and mixing colors and textures, which is probably one reason that I enjoy HH. IMHO...and that's all it is...there is something about a woman who tries too hard to dress and act in the same manner as her college age children and their contemporaries. In my case, it can be problematic as well because that is also the population I work with. I*I if you and all the HHH on TPF would actually have a chance to spend time with me IRL and not just here, you would see that I adhere to exactly the philosophy and mindset of which you speak. I love being part of TPF and the HH thread. Hayen Harnett is indeed for women of all ages. Why else do you think I purchased birthday and holiday gifts for every female I care about during these past two SS, from my 13 year old BFF's daughter to my 82 year old mother..

I'm 36 and there are things I can't or don't want to wear anymore. Maybe "don't want to" is the real truth. I can't wear cheap trendy clothes that I replace every season when they fall apart anymore. No H&M.
I can't wear denim jackets, only jeans. Well I guess I technically "could" but I'd just prefer to wear other things. And most of all I can't wear junky handbags !!!!! |

Well, it's all good. Maybe more was read in to my post than was necessary, but - I just went ape-nutty when I saw your words - 'senior citizen self' - and then the rest followed.
I would say that none of us, at any age, should dress younger than we are.My comments are meant to indicate that we should dress and behave relative to our maturity level. Wearing fine accessories such as Hayden-Harnett would indicate we're very mature indeed. (Mature = filled with common sense, wisdom, love for ourselves and others and the finer things in life). I will leave you all to add your own definitions of 'mature'. To me, it has nothing to do with "senior citizen self" - and yes, GB, I see that you were making jokes at your own expense, nothing serious was meant. |

I love these cuffs! Question for you Leo, not to be personal, but if you were to measure your wrist, what size is it? I have really skinny wrists and I would be afraid the Ramone wouldn't look as nice on me as it does on you. I have a real problem with bracelets in general. When I wear them I feel like I look like a little girl playing dress up. I love them, but they don't love me. However, the Ramone looks like it adjusts, I'm just wondering how much. |
