Dangers of Facebook
Monday 10/05, GRW: 1st session 4:45 pm to 5:45 pm
Monday 10/05, GRW: 2nd session 9:30 pm to 10:30 pm
Learn about the potential dangers of Facebook and Myspace from the C.L. Lindsay, the Author of “The College Student’s Guide to the Law”.

Purse Party
Thursday 10/08, LH 4th Lounge: 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm
Knock off brands of Coach, Chanel and other designers will be for sale
All interested students are welcomed

i seriously cant believe it. I think technically they can call it inspired by or whatever, as long as the purses dont actually have the name on them, but man...this is cutting it close. Especially for universities who are against plagiarism, etc.

looks like an outside party is selling things on campus and was authorized to do so. We had stuff like that at my alma mater. But it was more jewelry then bags

We have those too at my university--fake jeans, bags, jewelry, shoes..you name it.

^^^thats crazy. how can this be ok? how far are they going? does it actually say the designers name or are they just "designer inspired"?

We have vendors at my school who are authorized to sell things. One vendor in particular sell blatant knock offs of sunglasses and purses. They're not cheap either for fakes, but because the school gets a cut it seems they're turning a blind eye to it. :(

If this is a state university, I would call the governing board or the state attorney general's office to complain about state-sponsored fraud. The lack of complaint is what keeps these people in business. Let the authorities decide if these people crossed the 'inspired' line.
