I will use the $ (if I have) to buy a big diamond or fund an animal shelter.

I like Hermes, but if I can buy a house for the price of a bag, no. Even if I had billions I would find that a stupid investment.

if I could, I would, except not particularly an exotic birkin, because then I would probably never carry it being so paranoid which probably applies to any bag with that price tag

well, I think even $2000 is a lot for a bag, but 99 000 is out there !!! , if I had millions, I would give 99000 to some charity rather, or buy medicine for people who needed it...no bag is as worth as a house/home

BUT, I do not judge people who would, dreams and needs are so different..I would never criticize someone's choice of need...I have some choices which sound insane to many (a $500 worth of meteorites - yet for me, that is the source of amazing inspiration and joy, just touching them, so I understand someone with different choice)

For one bag? No I would not even if I was super rich. I would buy multiple handbags instead! Oh and buy a nice car with that, give off to people that need the money, and save it towards a house.

Vesna, I totally agree with you. Yes, we all have different needs and choices. I shall also never judge another person in regards to their choices.

I would do exactly what you would do with the money...First help all my family and relations in bettering their lives which I already try to do, then help people whose lives I could change for the better...I, too, would find it very, very difficult to carry a bag with that price tag, knowing how hard one has had to work to get whatever one has...., regardless of how much money one has now. But again, that is just my point of view, and I love handbags...

i guess the question should include how someone earned their money.
most hard earners i know (does includes millionaires but also billionaires) would never spend that amount on something like that.
the ones that do often buy EVERYTHING they own on credit and to show off, then they end up in jail for not being able to pay off their debts... YUP some are still in the prison here.. just another thought :)
only someone silly would do that no matter how much money they have...

if I was a Hermes fan...hell yea!!

but since I dont know about Hermes the answer is no. Now ask me the question and replace "diamonds" with Hermes then the answer is yes yes yes! (I assume that if I have $99,000 available to spend all my basic needs are met)

Even if I were a multi-billionaire, absolutely HELL no.
1.) This is where I would teach myself or use a fraction of the price to pay for fashion designing courses and to make my own bag that looks like the 99 grand bag (if it's especially nice and different) in the closest way possible without replicating it.
2.) Even if the 99 grand bag is an absolutely and incredibly-ridiculously stunning bag (which I can't imagine, LOL), I would still think why should I give it the respect of 99 grand? Do I get anything back apart from a small-ish object of immediate gratification and superficiality which I would pay just over 10 grand for at most which is still a large overpay but to a much, much less extent.
3.) I could get two degrees with that and retain such skill and knowledge that would enrich not only my professional life but my social life as well. I mean I spend 8-10 hours a day at work and then an additional 2-3 days every other week with friends and associates, so that's much life that could be improved vastly with formal education. Or, I could use it to travel (learning and fun experience), pay for other classes (dance, etc.), donate to charity that I really believe, invest in business, etc. I'd rather keep pursuing formal talent or cause to no end than pay for something that most people in general wouldn't notice or care in the long run.
4.) Why should I support the fashion industry in constantly raising prices or placing arbitrarily high price tags?
