As gorgeous as Hermes bags are, that just seems an outrageous amount of $$$$

This color is only available for VVIP clients. That is why the cost is so much. Even long time customers would have trouble getting this bag. Hermes will say it does not come in matte baby blue, even though it does. It's because it's not available for most long time customers.

If someone wanted only 1 bag from Hermes, and this was it, they should buy it. Hermes will put off allowing them to buy this bag for years and years of purchases, if ever.

No, this is just silly, b/c the purse does not have the intrinsic value of $99,000 that way something like real estate does.

not on a bag.
i'd probably not be comfortable even using a bag of that price.
possibly on jewelry i would.

No...But could you imagine the resale value? I wonder if you could list it on Bonanzle & if it would turn up in the "Auth. this Hermes" thread.

You could buy part of a RR Phantom with that money...

Sure if my name was Candy Spelling. Great way to piss Tory off - spend the inheritance she'll never get on a bag.

I agree with you hotshot, but the sad part is it will sell.

I jumped over to look at the blogs. Hermes has a $10,000 gym bag. IMO Hermes is more about status to some customers than style and craftsmanship.

I would rather give 10K to 10 needy strangers than buy it.

Sorry, I should have put link Fashion Week Handbags: Hermes

No. I'd rather put that money towards another house.

i have a friend who through hard work was able to sell a company for over 250 million dollars....her two girls don't get everything they want and my friend instills amazing values in them...she's happiest in kitchen baking and looking for sea glass on the ocean...her family contributes to third world countries where women are being subjugated at the hands of the government....she could afford as many birkins as she wants, but makes sure that her funds go into meaningful projects...that's not to say that buying the birkin for 99K isn't a good thing, it's just i'd hope that if someone had the $$ to pay for that, they'd also take some money and help some people out as well...
just my 2 cents...

Nope. I wouldn't spend more than 4 digits on a bag. I think once it hits 5 digits, I'd rather get a car or something more useful.
