yes- I would do the same. Accept graciously (rudeness is unacceptable) and then get rid of the blasted thing asap. Someone once gave a fake pashmina as a gift. 100% 'cashmere' _ I said thank you - cut the label off and gave it to charity...within an hour.

I highly doubt anyone that I know would give me fakes as a present, and if they did. I would throw it away. I wouldn't give it to anyone. because it would be used over and over as someone stated.

And what is the point of giving a fake as a gift? unless the person doesn't really know. and it was by mistake, there are other things people can give as gifts.

I too would graciously accept, then discard.. but first I would write "FAKE" inside with a sharpie so it doesn't find itself on ebay.

That's a really good idea! no one in their right mind, would want it after you do that to it.
I would write in it there a couple of times. or on the outside as well! both.

I would say, "Thank you!" and tuck it away in a dark corner somewhere. I'm sure whoever gave it to me didn't mean harm... not point in being harsh.

I would also accept the item just to be polite, and keep it somewhere. I will not give it to another person or family member or even resell with the perfect knowledge that it is fake. It should be out of circulation.

My friend gave me a fake gucci wallet for my 18th birthday. I got home and threw it out straight away. Honestly, it looked worse than a $20 wallet from target or something.

This is a tricky one. Because if you act like you are fine with it, she might gift you another fake in the future... I would tell her that I don't use fakes, but also justify why, so at least that way it would be due to your beliefs and not because you didn't "like" her gift choice.

This, I very much agree with this.

Accept and toss ASAP.

I would thank them for the gift and then probably use it to store stuff in....

Just thank them, and then hide it in my closet. The secret back part where unwanted gifts go to die.
