Lightbulb What is the Best non-laptop Laptop Bag?

So I can't afford a Birkin and I'm afraid of disfiguring my unstructured deerskin YSL downtown. I *hate* bags designed to carry laptops, so who out there has some great suggestions? It needs to happily hold a 13" MacPro (and the accompanying 5-6 pounds) *every day* to and from work. I'm in my late 20s so lets keep it fun but classic. I'm thinking from the practical to off the wall here... like has anyone put a laptop in a Chloe Saskia kind of stuff :) :)
Let's discuss!!

Longchamp large tote and you can get a laptop sleeve to protect it and to maintain the shape of the bag. I use this and the leather handles are so comfortable overthe shoulder.

I also use a laptop sleeve which I purchased from the Apple store as my laptop is actually 15 inches and I am able to put it in either the Longchamp tote or a black leather tote bag that I love. I agree, tho, hate those laptop bags.

I may need to get a laptop bag and was also thinking of a Longchamp. Do you use the Le Pliage model or the Planetes large shopper? I saw a Le Pliage open tote that also looked very cute.

That's a cool suggestion... I do use an incase laptop sleeve (I call it its scuba suit :). But then I looked up the measurements of the medium Le Pliage and its 13 x13"... my MacBook is 13 1/2" long so I need something at least that long or high... And the large I already own, too big. Other thoughts?

I have a Gryson Moni that I love, and it fits my 15" laptop. You would probably want to get a sleeve though (you should if you use any non-padded bag). The Moni has a flap top closure rather than a zipper -- I actually like that but you may or may not.

Or, if you don't want to mess with a separate sleeve, you might look at the Hayden Harnett Catalina laptop bag. It's divided into three compartments and the middle one is padded, for the laptop. I have one of those also, and I like the division since I can put work files in one of the other compartments and personal items in the other. It's pretty stylish for a laptop bag and the leather is SO smooshy and nice. And it has a removable shoulder strap as well since it's meant as a work bag. My only problem with it is my laptop is a little too big for that center compartment -- it's meant for a small one like yours.

It's also much less expensive than the Gryson. On their website, the Olive color is $473 but the Chocolate is on sale for $331.10.

Those are great. And I love the unconventional suggestion of the Muse as a laptop bag...hmmm.

I'm going to have to check this out. I was looking at the bagshop site and found that two of their stores aren't too far from my home. I was also looking at the HH Ibiza tote. Thanks so much for your help.

I have never owned a rebecca minkoff nikki, but I have tried one on. That is my next bag. I am waiting for it, in Navy Luxe. I am trying to stay away , so I dont spend anymore. LOL
I can suggest the nikki as an option. It fits a laptop, but it also is a great bag. I think that if you find the right leather and color you will be very happy with the purchase.

I just ordered the Kooba Meredith from BlueFly hoping it would work and it would have been BRILLIANT for a 12" laptop... but mine 13", it was so close to fitting it made me cry. Back it goes... I usually don't like Kooba bags but that one is pretty special imo.

My opinion is the Balenciaga Work bag in a neutral color would be a good and stylish choice for carrying a laptop.
