Default What do you think of purple bags??

I'm lusting after the purple Hogan tote bag that Katherine Heigl was seen carrying around town. However, the price tag is a little too high ($725) for it to be mostly canvas, so I'm looking at alternatives. Will purple be a color I can continue to wear? Would I be better off stickly with a gray/silver (the other color I seem to be into right now)? Any suggestions for a larger purple bag?

Purple is a hot color for Spring/Summer. Depending on the shade of Purple it can look great in Fall/Winter too.

I was noticing just last week how many Purple bags are coming out right now.

I am also lusting after a purple bag. But I'm not sure how often I would wear it, so I've been searching for a more affordable purple bag.

Oh my gosh - purple bags are the BOMB. I love purple....a deep rich intoxicating purple - I have just one purple bag (I recently parted with my Kooba Lucy in purple - I figured I didn't need two!!!....) and I love her!

I just checked it out. It's on backorder until 5/15. Looks nice.

Anyone have any other suggestions for a purple bag, around $200? Thanks

I adore purple, and the lovely thing is that if you love something, it ALWAYS looks in style, because you just have that "panache" with it, KWIM? You love it, so you make it work.

I am on the order for the BE Purple Love Me and I have no qualms about dropping a large amount of money on a purple bag.

To be honest, whenever I see someone working a bright colored bag, I always think wow, what a great bag! Never do I think "oh, pink is SO last season"

BUT purple has been my favorite color my entire life, so for me, its a smart buy. If you like going with trends, go with a cheaper version. But for me, it was worth the investment.

Hey sorry no real suggestions but when I saw the thread title, I had to contribute! I have to admit that I'm a proper purple fiend - my first "nice" bag was a lilac city balenciaga - and i absolutely love her! Didn't regret not sticking to a basic black or grey first (although I have since added to my collection ). Purple is GORGEOUS! And if you like the colour it's likely that you have clothes that match it? So don't stick to grey or silver!!!

I am also a fan of puple bags, though I don't yet own one. I love seeing the brighter purples that are out this spring. I'm looking for something a little more subdued myself (Marc Jacobs eggplant) so I'd feel comfortable wearing it year round, but I do love any shade of purple. Go for it!!

THis is a gorgeous bag/colour!

I also think purple bags are great... if they are a deeper purple they will look fantastic this spring/summer and into fall/winter as someone else mentioned. It's a great way to make an outfit pop!

Where has everyone been seeing purple bags? I'm dying to get a bright one for spring and keep reading in fashion magazines that purple is so hot for spring but can not find one, especially in more reasonable prices ($300 and under). I've been looking the Urban Outfitter Sabina one but since it's backordered, I wanted something a bit sooner and maybe a bit smaller.

Totally cute!

Saw a similar one in a medium blue one by Nancy Gonzalez at Neiman's yesterday.

I was eyeing the lilac Laura tote from Gryson on eBay yesterday!! Beautiful bag, but just a tad out of my price range. (hoping it'll get relisted for a little less :) A lovely shade of purple/lilac.

I think any rich shade of purple is divine and can add some great flair* to your outfit. It's one of my favorites, goes well with more colors than you might think.

*Do you remember Jennifer Aniston's character in "Office Space" and all the "flair" she had to wear on her suspenders as a waitress? Not that kind of flair.
