Hmm... Does this also happen to you guys?

One of my best friends, who knóws I've been LV & designer-obsessed for years, says I'm crazy if I'll spend that amount of money on a purse and I should buy a cheap fake, because nobody sees the difference ("Except for you!" She said, because at that moment I was spying on some woman's Speedy, trying to decide if it was real or fake )


Well, of course, I don't agree with her. I think I'd rather buy a H&M bag or something than a fake LV, because at least that one's real, design or not! And probably a lot cheaper to buy in the NL's than an ugly fake too. And, besides the fact that almost every fake is fugly, how can you feel confident wearing a fake?
But, what do you think? Friends who say you just have to buy fakes because 'nobody sees the difference' are...

1) Just very very jealous.

2) Clever, for keeping their money in their pocket and not 'throw away' hundreds of dollars for one purse.

3) A bit stupid, because they just don't see the beauty of a beautiful LV (or another designer object)!

I have a friend that calls me stupid for buying real bags. She tells me to buy fakes because no one will ever know. I could NEVER do that! I know she's jealous because she's told me be before that she wishes she could spend the money that I do on a real bag. Everytime I get a bag she wants to touch it, smell it & just admire it..lol

I think they're jealous! I'll rather get something that's less branded and expensive then getting a fake ! I always believe if you can't afford something, dun wear it then. Never settle for a fake one.

i have loads of friends who are always reprimanding me for buying LVs. i used to try to justify my purchases but lately, i gave up and couldnt be less than bothered. its my money! shesh! just writing about it now makes me angry at them!!

I pick #1...JEALOUSY! I have one friend that I have come to realize is that way. She sees me with something new, and the next time I see her she has a fake Dior bag or fake Chanel sunglasses or a fake D&G bag. She doesn't say anything to me, per se, but she'll ask how much something costs. She wants the designer look without paying for it. She's always in head to toe fake items! It drives me nuts! Although she does buy real Gucci bags and sandals @ NM...go figure!

I think that for those who don't own any authentic designer things they wouldn't think there is a difference. It's not until you actually purchase the real thing that you realize the HUGE difference between a fake and the genuine thing.

Friends who say you HAVE to buy or not buy anything are just annoying. But, friends who say they wouldn't spend $$ on a real designer bag may be jealous or uninformed, but they may also simply be less well off, or have very, very different priorities. I have friends and family members who think I am totally NUTS for spending the $$ that I do on LV... so what? I also have friends who adore LV as much as I do and we love gushing over each other's new purchases.

I had one of my distributers call me yesterday. She was telling me all about her NY trip. She says "I know you are a pures girl, you should see some of the great bags I bought while I was there... Prada, Gucci... they are really great knockoffs!" I said to her, "you know that is illegal right? It is a FEDERAL OFFENSE!"

I should have just let it go, but I couldn't!

Whenever a friend or just somebody I know tells me that, I usually tell them that people who don't know the brand and aren't into LV won't be able to tell the difference. For true LV addicts and experts, many of them could tell a fake apart from an authentic piece pretty much immediately. Then I add, I am one of those people who can tell instantly, and since I'm so against fakes I would never buy one.

Honestly I don't think it is any of the above. I think she just has different priorities... and that is okay. I am not saying buying fakes is good - its not, but there are tons of people that think spending hundreds of dollars on a bag is ridiculous. Maybe she would rather spend her money on traveling, or her car, or getting facials twice a week etc. Loads of people I know spend their money on things I would never dream of spending money on. She is probably that way about purses. I bet she has some kind of "thing" that she spends her money on that you may or may not agree with.

#1 & #3... They'll never learn, so I just stop telling them the differences between fakes and real.
I'm really tired of ppl judging, so I don't tell ppl about my "things" any more.

Alot of girls are really vicious and jealous.

I just say, if I can't afford the real thing, I won't buy it and pretend like I do (if she's persistent). If she just makes one comment, usually I simply say I don't buy fakes and leave it at that.
