I second the recommendations for LV & Ignes tinted leather -- and I would also add that the Belen Echandia dark gray glossy leather is amazing in the rain, and very pretty, too. It even gets smooshy with time!

I love patent. It is almost indestructible. My Valentino Bow Satchel is made out of laminated Nappa, which is coated lamb leather, which makes it water resistant. I was hesitant at first that it was in a light color pink, but the leather is just amazing. Not only is it water resistant, but I can wear it with dark jeans and not have to worry so much about the denim dye rubbing off onto my "baby". Coated canvas such as the Gucci Crystal GGs, the LVs, and Lacca, which Valentino uses for a lot of their handbags. It is a kind of coated canvas that makes the handbag look like patent.

I spray my mulberrys with colonil and use them. The choch and black one usually are fine.
