Default Valentino Nuage Crinkled (leather or not leather?)
Does anyone know about the Valentino Nuage bow totes?

I saw some in a crinkled fabric and have spoken with various people at Valentino boutiques etc and some are saying it is crinkled leather and some are saying it is crinkled coated fabric...

Any thoughts?

Thanks!!!

I have this bag in black. When I was investigating which one to buy, this is what I was told/learned.

The "high gloss patent" Nuage bags are always coated canvas. I was told at the Valentino boutique that if the tag says "lacca", it's coated canvas. Interestingly, NM.com refers to all the high gloss patent bags as "patent leather" but I think that's incorrect.

The Valentino boutique told me that the style in the photograph is crinkled leather. The confusing part is that NM.com has the bag in both black and white. They say that the white is "crinkled laminated leather" and the black one is "coated cotton"!

It's confusing but I've always been under the impression that the high gloss Nuage bags are coated canvas and the crinkly ones are leather. Hence, the high gloss ones are cheaper than the crinkled version...

^^interesting...i just noticed this myself too...wished it wasnt so confusing

is yours the crinkly blk or smooth blk patent?

i feel like if its leather there should be a tag inside the bag that says 100% leather or if its not say 100% coated canvas/cotton etc

i noticed too how NM says the white one is glace and its leather but the black is crinkly coated cotton canvas...argh...but they're both the same price!!

Mine is the crinkly black and I was "told" that it's leather. When I get home, I'll see if I can find the tags that came with the bag.

I think NM.com's descriptions for what the Valentino bags are made out of is incorrect. The SA at the Valentino boutique seemed to be on top of his game. He was showing me bag after bag that had the "lacca" designation and how that means its coated canvas--all these bags (different styles) were the high gloss patent that NM refers to as being patent leather. The only high gloss bag that is actually patent leather was the Historie which is always leather--at least according the SA who helped me.

I just looked on Valentino's website. They no longer have the crinkled version but all the other high gloss Nuage bags ARE coated cotton and the patent Historie is listed as being leather...

where is the valentino outlet?
i've been wanting a nuage for a year now. just waiting for the right one and the right price.
does the outlet do charge/send?

i think most of the shiny ones are coated canvas..however they make some in the leather. the leather ones are more expensive.

hmm just talked to a manager at Valentino Boston...said they havent had leather nuage totes in 3 years or so...the crinkly and patent looking nuage are all coated materials NOT leather...

they said at 1395 USD retail for the large crinkly nuage its definitely not leather...

but some other styles of valentino bags are patent leather...so it gets very confusing...

oh well, i got my nuage crinkly blk 40% off so i wont complain and i hard always felt there was a 50/50 chance this nuage i got wasnt leather...but its still very pretty :)
