Ugh! Just shoot me in the head!

I had Betsy Johnson's "London Calling" Dome (one of the few i actually like from BJ) in my Macy's shopping cart. I was browsing a little to make sure there was nothing else I wanted, and 15 mins later when I was ready to check out the bag was GONE!! This is the first time something like that has happened to me and i'm SOOOO sad. It was on sale for 221 from retail 295 and it was in an easy to match Cognac.

Now i'm looking everywhere for it but can't seem to find one. If anyone has seen one PLEASE LET ME KNOW, even if the price is more than 221. I'm so traumatized. I hate myself for not checking out sooner!!! I've learned a bitter lesson.

I'm sorry you had such a horrible disappointment. There's nothing better than finding a bag you want on sale and into your cart, but nothing worse than it disappearing in front of your eyes. I hope you manage to find another one.

I didn't realize items could be removed from your cart if you had it saved... Do all sites remove them from the cart if you don't pay for them in a reasonable amount of time?

Did you call one of her stores? They should have the bag and maybe might even price match it.

Yea, i called Macy's customer rep and was told that the bag is completely sold out. Also, items in the shopping cart are not reserved and was just a way for you to keep track of what you wanted. I had thought shopping cart items were reserved for at least a while too, which is why i took the time to look around a bit before I checked out, but now I know and you know: purchase them right away!

Ouch! Sorry about that. You'd think they'd reserve it if it's already on your cart.. but I think I've heard this happen to other people here, too. Good luck finding the bag, I know how annoying this must be!

Some companies do hold items in your bag for you (like ShopBop), but usually only for a short period of time. But it seems like most companies don't, and the item isn't yours until you complete the checkout and get your confirmation e-mail (and even then sometimes people get them canceled). It's a battle out there, haha.

Sorry you didn't get your bag.

do you live near a Loehmann's? they have a great supply of Betsey bags...I don't know what the one you had taken from you

looks like, but i have seen big cognac Betsey bags around,,,,

and also, i work at Macys, are you absolutely positive the sales associate did a thorough job finding it for you? sometimes they're lazy....Betsey is a fairly new line in alot of Macys and i have a hard time believing that any BJ bag is already sold out at Macys. also Macys SAs do not have the electronic capability of checking stores in other states, so there may be one waiting for you somewhere else. I at am Macys Town Center Mall, Boca Raton, am not in handbags, but call (561) 3934400 and ask for handbags. best of luck!

I just want you to know you're not alone. The same exact thing happened to me once with Luna Boston. Literally in the 10 minutes I was looking around, boom - it was gone. At first I was soooo angry - so sad - but you know what? I since then have moved on and it's just a fond memory now. Seriously, it seems worse now. You know how it is - you WILL find another PERFECT bag. In the meantime, keep checking eBay, do massive google searches....you never never know. You might even want to contact BJ directly to see if they have a retailer that might have another.
