The little booklet they gave me said to treat with apple care first, then with applegarde.....but I just did the apple garde spray since the bags were new and in good condition. I sprayed from a few inches away (was windy outside so I needed to get closer than usual) and did 2 coats about 40-60 minutes apart.
For the apple care I would just do what it says on the bottle...apply w/a rag, then let it dry and buff it (otherwise I read on here it can get a film that makes the bag look dull)

I ordered the $12 set from leatherstuff.com. I think it comes with the rag and I would also imagine, instructions. Good question though, as I hope to put my set to good use soon.

I would test a small hidden area first.....just to be sure. I've used it on a few of my bags and so far have not experienced any problems.

I received my apple care set in the mail today. What excellent customer service! I was stunned that it got here so fast. I think I ordered it on Saturday. Haven' used it yet, but will report in once I do.

I've used the leather cleaner & the leather care. I like both products. I have never used the spray, I'm too chicken. I sometimes get a little color transfer when i use the leather cleaner, but it's very minimal and leaves no tell-tale signs. I'd buy it again.

The spray seemed to go on pretty thick and wet (compared to the Wilson's spray with seems to dry almost instantly). So far I only used it on a dark brown bag so didnt notice any kind of color change or anything...but I agree that trying it on a small spot first is a good idea. I don't think the leather feels any different after using it either, so that's good

Thankx all for ur answers .
I emailed the leatherstuff people and their reply is below.I thought I'd share it with everyone.

As far as how often to use the Apple Leather Care depends on how much the bag is used. If it is used on a daily basis, about once a month. If it is an occasional bag, probably every 4-6 weeks. You can use the Apple Leather Care whenever you see that the bag is looking a little dingy or may need to be brought back to new condition. The Garde should be used the same. The more the use, the more times you may want to use the Garde. This is to be used to protect the bag, after the Leather Care has had time to dry, from daily wear and dirt. It is very good at repelling all sorts of problems.Depending on the size of the bag, you may use approximately 1/4 to 1/3 oz. per application. It will cover thin and go a long way. At the application level of 1/3 oz. per treatment, an 8 oz. bottle may last 18-24 months.

Okay, finally had a few minutes today to use my Apple leather cleaner and leather guard on a couple of my bags. No problems whatsoever. I did apply a little bit of each to a hidden inside spot on each bag, just in case. But all in all, it was a success.
